Question

I currently have an 8 mo. old female and she is showing good potential hunting, I also have a 2 yr old male out on a free trial. The male can track and tree own coon but obviously isn't a seasoned dog. The pup will track with an older dog if it is a hot enough track and will run with older dog even if the tracks not a barn burner. My question if i decide to buy this male how do i go about training this young pup with this male that isn't any kind of puppy trainer? Would you even keep the male? Let me know thanks for all responses.

Sounds like your pup is ready to be singled out to me. Try the rubber hose 22 rifle approach. Whoop with hose when slick and shoot coon down when there. ALONE ALONE ALONE ALONE. Send the other dog back and save your bucks.

I agree, single one out. Most people get more dogs than they need and never focus the time on one like they need to.

Thanks guys! this helps alot and it makes sense. I think this is what i will probably end up doing, the pup is showing good potential and i shouldn't waste it by trying to run her with the male. Thank you!
