I seen 5 in one tree in eastern KY one night. Had 3 dogs treed on a small tree with one big coon in it and about 30 yards away I caught a glimpse of eyes and started looking it over and ended up finding 5 in another tree. Had a couple more single coon up in smaller trees within 50 yards,

In 55 years of hunting these hills my papaw said he had never seen anything like it, altogether there were 9 or 10 coons. All wild coon, no feeders.

7 wild coon in one tree.

First night I ever hunted at my wifes uncles place. He had a cornfield that he asked me to hunt cause they were eating his corn.

First tree we made lit up like a christmas tree. 7 coons in all. Two sows and a bunch of kittens.

Most In A Tree

The most coon I've seen in one tree was 7. Then treed about 50 feet from there and had 2 more. And, this was in heavy grapevines, I could have missed some. A total fluke.

Have also had 5 in one tree a few times.

I was listening to a guy at the okla. state hunt that was telling about haveing 25 in one tree in a pecan grove. Other guys there had been there to back it up too. Saif they skinned 36 in that same spot in one night and threw the little ones away and didn't skin them. Said the farmer told them to thin them out. He said when you drove in out there they would be crossing infront and behind your truck like cattle. Sure would like to hunt there one time just to see it.
