I didn't think they would be figured they weren't any different then dog boxes. I just like how nice they looked but never really was a fan of the prices. I have some extra tin and siding may just make my own.

I take it you haven't actually owned or used one or even seen one used first had............nothing like the Jap sweat boxes.

I have some...........seen them in action on 100 degree days and seen the dogs chose them over the other dog houses on those hot days.

your talking about the skined type box's,he can still build one himself cheaper than cost plus shipping..

the way he posted ,looked like he was looking for the all aluminum sweatbox type like they carry in the back of the truck

the skin type with insulation between skins should refelect heat good and keep them cozy in the winter without cooking them in the summer ..

the solid aluminum box's are sweatbox's in my opion

there was a junkyard near here that was buying the bad painted/seconds panels for scrap from the old E G SMITH plant in cambridge ...
and they were buying the rolls of ss/alum skin metal that had bad paint on them too..

I have quite a few of the aluminum/wood houses made by Regal here in Williamston. Once we get moved and have our new kennel area set up I'd like to try to have once for each of our pens. Never worry about them being too hot or too cold, and they love being able to lay on the top in front of their fans when it's hot!

i think the plastic barrels are best. i have plywood w/clear plastic swinging doors to put on when it gets cold.
this summer i experimented with a suspended bed in one. i used some trampoline material attached to two 1" x 2" x 36" strips and attached the strips to the inside of the plastic barrel. at first the dogs wouldn't go near it. but eventually they had to try it and now that's their favorite house. next summer i'll put the same in all the houses. the mesh allows dust to fall to the bottom, air to circulate around the dog and it's more comfortable because there are no pressure points. they're sorta like a hammock.

I would like to have a few myself..........I made some stands to hold my barrels and even a platform on top for the dog to lay on in the summer...

The only box I use is a whelping box made like the one Houndsman Deluxe offers........
