I HAVE A 5 YR OLD ENGLISH FEMALE IM STARTING TO COMPETITION HUNT WHEN SHE RUNS ALONE SHE CHECKS HER SELF MULTIPLE TIMES BEFORE FALLING TREE BUT WHEN SHE DOES ITS THERE ANY THOUGHTS ON HELPING HER HOLD PRESSURE AND NOT DO SO MANY CHECKS AROUND TREE. BUT WITH OTHER DOGS SHE TREES A LOT FASTER

It sounds like you got a dog that likes to have a coon before treeing. If she were my dog, I would be very happy to have her and I wouldn't worry about putting her with a bunch of slick treeing idiots in the Nite Hunts. Compete with her when the leaves are off and the slick treers get minussed.

i use to have a walker female that did the same thing my favorite dog ive ever had, she just didnt miss.

I have a walker female that is the same way with or without other dogs.When she does tree though she most always has the meat.

Checking trees doesn't mean they are more accurate , it's just another trait among thousands that dogs are born with.

Not sure there is much you can do , other than maybe hunting her with some dog you can find to hunt with that is a bad tree stealer and teaching her a lesson ....

Maybe just a trait. Hunt her alone alot and build her confidence by shooting a few more out. That might help, if she is not too set in her ways.
By the way it sounds like you have a coondog.
The first "good" dog I hunted with would check 3 times before locking down, he seriously never ever slick treed though. Got beat a lot in comp hunts cause dogs would slide in and steal first tree. What a coondog though. When he treed it was a coon, a den or once in a while it was a possum, never empty though.

I owned a female out of Stylish Jet, she would check between 2 to 5 times before she would settle,but she would have a coon everytime!I sold her,the man that trained her hunted her by herself until we got her.She did this alone or in company,she was out of a Rat Attack female,so all of these dogs aren`t just slick treeers......She was a pull proof pressure treedog.Had a real mouth, 1 of her littermates did alot of winning in pkc......

Try tying the dog back and knocking the coon out to another dog. That tends to tighten them up on the tree. If he trees and stays first feed it to him.
