 | When registering a APBT with ADBA, the original name stays with the dog forever. When registering a dog with UKC, the name may be changed as long as it has not received a title or produced a litter. NAPDR lets you change the name also.
For example: Joe's Blackie, Mary's Blackie, Bill's Buddy.

 Joe sells Blackie to Mary.
In UKC, Mary could rename the dog Mary's Blackie.
In ADBA, dog's name would remain Joe's Blackie.

Mary decides to resell the dog and just gives the NAPDR papers. The new owner, Bill, renames the dog Bill's Buddy.

It would be the same dog, just different name.
