UKC Youth Nationals

WOW were do I even start!!!!!

First off THANK YOU UKC for asking me to judge this show. I was so excited going in just because I love all the kids of our sport and I knew that I would be seeing some of the best dogs in the country handeled by some of the best handlers. Boy was I right!!!!!

If you have never been to an event at Dan River Coon Club you surely need to go.... They sure no how to but on an event. Thanks to everyone at Dan River that was involved you did AWESOME!!

Second off THANK YOU so much to all the wonderful kids that came out and endured the heat. 95 dogs amazed me and the temp under the tent was 101. But all in all it went smooth and I think everyone had a great time. I know I did!!

Third off THANK YOU to all the parents or anyone who brought those wonderful kids to Madison, NC for this event. Without the support of their parents these kids would not be doing what they are doing. And from the dogs I judged and the scores that came in we have some outstanding youth handlers out there.

But most of all from the bottom of my heart thank you for all the phone calls, texts, email and posts about the show. It was my sole purpose to make sure that I did not overlook any kid or anydog. I wanted to make sure they all felt like they had full opportunity with their hound and that they enjoyed the show.

It was a true honor to judge these kids and their hounds and will be an experience that I will NEVER forget. Thanks again everyone and I will see everyone soon....

I was wondering why I haven't seen any pics.

I know you all had a wonderful time with all those great kids!

Be blessed! I bet you had your hands full, Lisa!

I could use some of these great handlers to give me some pointers!

I am trying to lighten my pics but unfortunately it was so dark under the tent that they just didn't turn out. Hopefully I can get them lightened up and post a few. Couldn't have done the show without the tent so you may just have to do without pics Cleo! LOL!!

Scarlett Overton does have some pretty good pics. She must have a GREAT camera! Go to the other thread on here and she posted a link to her facebook account that has the pics.

Thank you Lisa for doing such a fine job of judging almost a 100 hounds in the 100 degree heat. I think you had that OLD ring steward wore out, haha.
A big thank you to the Dan River club as they put on a great event as they always do.
And thank you UKC for having these events for the youth and keeping this great sport alive. Its always refreshing to go to these events see the sportsmanship that these kids show towards each other.

The Belands,
Bruce, Jill, Amanda, Autumn & Amelia

I didn't attend, but I know Lisa. She is a wonderful person that goes above and beyond! I know she had a blast!
Congrats to all the youth!
