Opinions on dog box

I just bought a truck, and I want a new box. Here is the Question....

I live in West Tennessee, and it gets rough during the summer, so I have been debating a summer box that has the removeable sides and bottom storage.

Is their a difference in these boxes regular box like a heritage(other than bottom storage)?

Thanks for the replys

I live in Eastern NC and it gets hot here also. i have a box with top storage but like the bottom storage type alot. I have not had one with the removable sides but I have a Mullins and my wifes uncle has a houndsman Deluxe, these boxes have the rear vent option and with side and rear vents open the dogs get alot of air without getting rained on, plus I can close the vents in winter to keep the dog warm (I usually still crack the side vents a bit).

I have an Owens bottom drawer box. It is the all season box. I love it. Big vents on the sides and backs. Really helps with air flow. Go for it.

I have a Diamond Deluxe summer box with removable panels.I wouldn't recomend one though, the latches on the top storage are junky making it hard to open and shut.

If I were going to buy a new box, I'd go with an Owens. Unique is right behind them, not sure if they make a summer box. I have an old Continental box...and it gets plenty warm and humid here during the summer. I've never had a heat issue in the 12 years or so that I've used it. However, any box will get VERY warm when you've got more than one dog together. One dog per compartment will be fine no matter how hot it is.
