Females

My female was just horrible lastnite!!!! Is it that she isnt 100% from having the pups? She hasnt been hunted in 9-10weeks. But that shouldnt matter!!!(pups are 6 1/2 weeks old)
She bayed at 1 posssuim,1 skunk, and then put up 2 coons. All I did was tell her NO, and she pulled off both off game pretty quick. She has always been pretty straight(Except puppy days)
Not counting the first 5-10 min she just milled around.(within light range)
She better straighten out!!!!

I know time and reps. just thought we were over this stuff 2 years ago!!!
Any suggestions....

6 week old pups = female not in her right mind yet. Still under the influence of hormones, give her time, she will be fine. Plus the fact she hasn't been hunted in a while, she's like 'Woohooo, I'm hunting, everything is fair game because I'm hunting'!

Are you a bit impatient? I am sure her milk bag is still sagging if pups are only 6 weeks old.You run a good risk off her snagging it on something and tearing it open. It does matter that he has not been hunted in 3 months. If you were put in a roo for 3 months and got out I bet you would smell the roses and take a look around. You hunt females and it is stuff you will have to put up with. They gt stupid when they cycle as well. I can generally tell before they even come in that it is coming by the way they hunt or act. Heck have you not had a wife or girlfriend?

Just give her time to rest up from raising pup 24/7 for the past 6 weeks. She will come back around.

i know what it is,,did you see the size of the moon last night,,lol

a friend has a blue female thats not been herself lately ,he said she is due to have pups in 5 weeks if she took,

our walker female wasnt acting right sunday night ,coon took them into the swamps and they both acted like they were new to the swamps,,i'm hopeing my female might be comeing in heat as that is a sign when they start acting braindead when you know they are better than the way they are acting..

its easer to just blame it on the full moon,,lol

That is why they are called a bitch after haveing pups. LOL
Never had one that didn't get a little to a lot bull headed after raiseing a litter. Discipline is the key or has been for all I have had.

Now Boys.....

Remember there ARE women out here who DO read these posts....and you wife maybe one of them! LOL All that aside...we have a female that when she is getting ready to come in she will run you all night long acting stupid, it's better to just put her up and come home. We had one that as soon as her milk sack was dried up enough to take her out (a good 10 to 12 weeks after pups - she looked like a dang cow!) She would look good at first but got sloppy later on. She tired out quicker and would tree on nothing just to stop. Just take it slow and keep in mind every dog is different. I know plenty of male hounds that act like they have rocks for brains!

We bred a Female one time to Shaker and she had 6 pups, but here is the thing, she NEVER got back right...She was a Accurate Hard tree dog, the reason we bred her, and after the pups she would just pull up on one somewhere...we eventually sold her, She never got back like she was.....
