Question for all

Does it help a big game stud dog to have titles on him? Now I am not talking nite ch titles but show water. The reason I am asking is the guy I hunt with has two amazing hounds he wants to offer at stud and I have taken them to some events and was wondering what you all thought.

In my opinion titles don't mean anything to me.I would rather see nite or grandnite than show titles if there was to be a title on a dog, but big game dogs for the most part are untitled.
Like i said though its just my opinion.

Wouldn't mean nothing to me.
I think of water race/field trial/show dogs as pets for non-hunters.

not relly

titlees dont relly mean nothing to a big game hunter but it dont hurt ether i woud rather see any title then a show champ thou a water champ /means dog shoud not be afrade to hunt swamps feild trial champ maeans dog not afrade of other dogs and strange people and will run track with strangers around and get wooded .. nt or grand nite means your dog can hunt with strange dogs strange people strange in viroment ex ex and have live game in trees for the most part i know ther have benn hunts won buy slicktrees in past but not in Ukc in pkc there has thou ... i do both with my dogs i hunt bear in spring sumere and fall and in late sumer and winter i feildtrial my dogs to help keep in shape and get um of the chianes and out of the kennals when you cant hunt any bear and im going to start night hunting
justy to have more fun ... but i will say this usaly your best feildtrial dogs 90 % off the time is your worst hunting dog and vice versa .. event like this are nice but iff its a dam good hunting dog dont get your hopes up to hi for a big winner as there are sircut people just with feild trial dogs and water race dogs that traval around to theses things and all they do is FT tip for water races if you enter 1 enter your bigest strongest male you got that hates coon you might do beter ...

Titles mean nothing to me for breeding. I have seen titled dogs that I wouldnt let anywhere near my bitch. I want to see what the stud can do in the jungle with the bear.

well

we do the ukc swims mostly to keep the dogs in shape during our quiet time. It also is a way to meet new people. We don't night hunt them we do show one or two but I will be the first to tell you these are not house pets by any means. They get the job done for truck to tree. Anyone want to come to MI on a weekend from july 8 till the last week in aug. Come see them in action. I was just wondering Because we have had some people that want the titles because they sell some big game bred hounds to coon hunters. Thanks for your replies.
