That one is way more high tec than mine. Mine is just an old Fulton sheller that I bought this past weekend. Although I have seen this style, not this one in particular, but "floor models" like it that are selling for anywhere from $250 up to around $500 in good working condition. I gave $35 for mine but it wasnt the cost that I really cared about it was the fact it was identical to the one we had when I was a kid. I had been looking for one for some time. Got a lot of good ol memories from days spent in the barn because of that old sheller. In the loft we had a halfcourt basketball set-up. In the fall, when basketball season rolled around it was the same time the corn came in. Dont get me wrong we didnt have acres upon acres of corn that was shelled with the ol Fulton but there would be a thousand ears +/- that would hit the loft in the fall and the elevator didnt stack it in a neat pile in the corner, so if I wanted the extra b-ball practice I had to shell and bag what was covering my court. Anyways I loved those days as hard as they were and would like to give my son the opportunity to experience a small portion of my past and how we did things. Sort of a 2 fold hands on teaching thing I guess, he learns a little about the recent history before bigger better inventions came along (even though we chose to keep using the old method of hand cranking a sheller) and he learns how much he or almost any kid has it made today.
