Best Boots??

I am looking for a good pair of hunting boots with chaps attached that are light weight and will last. I had a pair of Mucks with GT'S chaps and they lasted for 4 1/2 years and recently bought me a pair of Lacross with GT'S chaps and have had them almost a year and they done got the sole's o the side busting opening. So whats a the best boots that can stand being used pretty hard??

I am curious, do you walk through any heavy briars or water? I love the boots, but the chaps don't keep my legs protected or dry? Maybe they got the new chaps going since I got mine.

If you want boots that will wear, just buy a regular old pair of lacrosse rubber boots with chaps attached. They aren't warm, and not as comfy as alpha series boots or mucks, but they do last.

I wouldn't recommend Dan's. Bought a pair of light weights 2 yrs. ago they lasted 1 summer and the tops leak everywhere. I bought a pair of heavy weights last fall and this spring the seams are letting loose and leaking. I have a pair of Tim's heavy weights on the way maybe they will hold up.

Well I would like a pair that is insulated a little bit but wont burn your feet up and I hunt 6-7 nights a week so want a par of boots that can withstand some wear.

With the grange boots and the burly boots there is nothing to wear out in the heel. Now they aren't light as a tennis shoe and don't come off like a slipper, but if you want a pair of boots to last, this is the route to go

Are they alpha burly's?? If so I agree, if they are regular old Burly boots that weight like 6lbs a pair then I stand corrected, but I think you are talking about alpha burly's that came out years after the original burly's.

I got the Muck Woody Armor. They are snake proof so maybe they hold up better than the regular muck boots. These have a thick outside and have been doing well for me.

i am talking about the alpha burly's. i love the comfort of them. they are like wearing sneakers but the heel"s (in mine) wear out too quickly

I've tried all different kinds of boots and chaps but it never fails I have to buy a new pair every year. Never had a problem with the chaps its always the boots. I had Lacrosse Alpha Burly's and had a stick run through the side of them. Then I had Lacross Alpha Burly Sport and the chaps wore a hold though the neoprene around the ankle. I have Muck Wetlands now and the sole is separating around the toes. So I pretty much bank on spending $100 or more a year on a new pair. I hunt quite a bit though so the padding on the heels are usually wore out by then anyways.

See mine are they same way it didnt take long for the heels to start wearing out and really didnt have no problem with the mucks just they had no traction on slate rock and the sole itself would come apart and then they started tearing along the sides and started leaking in lots of water. But I really like the Gts chaps though.

You guys make it tough to make a decision on getting a new pair. I will prob get the Lacrosse burlys again but I need to find the best chaps that hold up like my old Wicks have. I always put an insole in my boots as I have to get a size 10 and they are about a 1/2 size too big. This has always kept the inside of the heel on the bottom from wearing out but I wear out the back because of some slippage.

I have been thinking about just buying a new pair of boots and having someone sew my old froglegs onto them. I am going to talk to a gal at an alteration shop to see if she can do it.
