road kill dead or fresh killed(the dog killed it)
if dog killed it.. hes scratched
if its rotten and dog is struck. minus him if not struck nothing id say.

If a night champion is spending his time rolling in dead possum he should be scratched for stupidity.

LOL....but dogs REALLY love stuff that smells bad! I know a guy that got scratched for his nitech bringing back a live sucker fish to his owner in a nite hunt. My dogs find the nastiest smelling stuff and roll in it, drives me nuts!

It may be and look stupid , but it is not a scratchable offence if the judge determines the off game was already dead before the dog got it. I've saw this addressed before on here and UKC said to use some common sense. Road kill is stupid , but not scratchable under molesting off game.

What about a live sucker fish? Is that scratchable?

I don't know whether it's scratchable or not. But I'd withdrawl my dog and we'd have a little conversation about off game!

I've seen some weird things in hunts , but that one is right up there with the best of them !

Technically , I'd say it IS scratchable since it is a live animal , but if I'm judging I'd probably ignore it unless the dog is barking. If his dog is jacking with a stupid fish , mine surely can surely shut him out on a coon. If I can't beat that dog , I don't deserve to win either !

The guy took his scratch and laughed about it all the way back to the club house. He thought it was too funny to worry about being scratched for 'off game'. What a story he has to tell now!

It was a very dry summer and the streams had all dried up except for a few pools. His dog struck and was working a track, but must have come upon this sucker fish in one of the pools and couldn't help himself, he grabbed it and came back to the guy with this big ole floppin' sucker fish in his mouth. The judge scratched him for 'off game' and the guy just about busted a gut laughing about it. He said it was a 'trophy'!
