I don't know all scores. But I do know 400+ was good enough for 6th open Friday night. I won't name names to protect the innocent, but lets just say it was done by a black and tan man huntin' a borrowed walker dog, Cooper Creek Amy owned by Justen Cooper and myself.

A black dog named Jammer handled by a Feltman won my Nite ch. cast with 375 plus on FRI. night. Don't know if it was enough to get in. Looked like it was a large turn out for Friday nite hunt.

Joey, you can now view all results with exception to Saturday's Hunt. I'll be headed back out to the grounds shortly and will have those, including the "big kahuna" sometime Sunday morning before heading back to the north country.

Hardtime Speck

I was reading some of the posts on Hard Time Speck. Saw some things and thought I would set the record straight. I will turn 64 years old my birthday. I hunted coon many many years. I started at nine years of age and was taught all the tricks to train a hound by an uncle that knew what he was doing , he hunted for fur, (one of the old ones) saw many fine hounds over the years. The best hound I ever hunted was Hard Time Speck, bar none. He was owned by James Carleton in Shelbyville TN...Mr. Carleton , Bob Parker, and I hunted together. Mr Carleton sold the hound to Bates . I had a special thing I could do. Climb any tree and get a coon down. I was extremely strong and had unnatural balance. Do you want to make a coon dog? Climb a tree hes is treeing on and put that coon on the ground. There were many coons shook out to Hard Time. Hard Time was one of the Hardest Treeing dogs I had ever seen in my life. He would stick in the hardest rain and storm and never falter. Hard Time was hunted seven days a week and he could take it. Turn him loose and he would get yonder and waste no time about. He would trail and wasn't an extreme babbler , Hard Time would push for that tree and blow the top out when he got there. Hard Time was a truthful hound and very few times that I know of did he ever run off game when we hunted him. Mr. Bates got the hound and as time progressed Hard Time took his place in coon hunting history twice I see that his fame is has continued thru his offspring. Hard Time is buried in Al. from what I remember, been there one time. Hard Time has a monument gravestone over him bigger than I will ever have over me. This was a once in a life time hound and it was a once in a life time experience. As I stood down south at Hard Time's grave I realized someone loved the Hound enough to literally spend a fortune just to bury Hard Time. Every little boy that was raised hunting dreams of a World Champion Coon dog . I was very grateful to be a small part in Hard Time's journey. My name is Tony Collins and I am a retired Police Officer from Shelbyville Tn.

Part of this story may be true but not all. Carlton never sold Speck to Ed Bates ,Calvin Hayes did. Calvin bought Speck sometime after the 1976 ACHA World Hunt. Transfered him to english, made him a Nt Ch. Then Calvin ren Speck at the 1977 ACHA World Hunt , did no good thensold him to Ed Bates at the World Hunt grounds. The Eddie finished him to Gr Nt Ch ( only 1 time was he made a Gr Nt Ch ) won english days ect ect ect then ran him in the 1978 ACHA World Hunt and placed 5th. Ran him in the 1979 ACHA World hunt and won it. Speck died here in Highland county, Hillsboro Ohio and is BURIED HERE 5 MILES FROM ME. No marble monument !!!!!! Speck was born in Pellahm Tn .

Houston Carter owned and started Speck and he was ran in the 1976 ACHA WORLD HUNT . Then Russell Wager owned em and he was sold to Calvin Hayes . Calvin transfered him to english and made em a NT Ch ran em in the 1977 ACHA World Hunt and sold em to Ed Bates at the World Hunt. Ed ran him in several hunts including the 1978 World Hunt and won 5th place and the was ran in 1979 and won the World hunt. Speck does have a huge monument over him . It is a huge maple tree as big as your truck but no where near Alabama .... There are 3 world Champions buried in Highland County Ohio, The Incredible Rock, Hardtime Speck and Fightin Side
