My Real Name

I haven't been using this board all that long, but I have founed it to be educational, entertaining, thought provoking, and a way to communicate. There have been a few discussions on here about using a "Handle" vs. your real name. I am a minister, and I have recieved many letters over the years that were not signed. I don't take them serious, as a matter of fact, I no longer read them. If you stand for what you beleve, and believe in what you are saying, you don't have to hide. When I first discovered this message board, my wife wanted me to use a handle, so people would not know who I was if I did make a post, but it just wasn't my style. I don't curse, or lie. I don't mean to sound like a "Goodie-two-shoes," because, before I met Jesus I could not say that. I am not perfect, but I am DIFFERENT. I don't feel that I need to hide behind a handle to make a point, and for that reason I choose to use MY REAL NAME. To each his own.

I hunt

Bluedogs. I have hunted blueticks for over 35 years. I have primarily hunted Smokey River Blues. I owned hounds out of the old Diamond Jim, and their offspring. I owned Smokey River Blue Spud, Gr.Nt.Ch. Smokey River Jeans Blue Tramp, and a few other not so famous dogs. The dogs I have now are from these same strains. I am not a big breeder, but I do take it pretty serious.

I think this has been mentioned before, on a similar thread. But, someone also had one good supporting reason for why they wouldn't want to use their real name. I'm a woman, and a mother, and I don't fully trust the Internet. lol ... Not that I think there are any serial killers on this board, or anything, but I simply choose not to post my real name and address, etc., on a board that is 100% public. There are quite a few people on here who know my real name, and know where I live ... I feel that PMs, and emails are just more secure for that type of information sharing.

I don't feel that I'm trying to "hide" behind a handle, or anything ... I just am a little leary, that's all. I swear I'm not a paranoid freak lol, but I have a friend who had a very bad experience that could've been caused by too much personal information being shared on a very popular, widely-used message board. Real names were used, and addresses were shared on a frequent basis. Well, she posted several times that she was going on vacation, and how excited the whole family was to be getting away for a spell -- The week she and her family were gone, her house was burglarized and vandalized. They never caught anyone, and obviously it could've been completely coincidental, but I can certainly see how it would've been fairly simple for someone with bad intentions to get all the information they needed from her posts ...

Boy, now everyone's going to think I AM a paranoid freak!! haha ... oh well ... I promise I'm not! I just thought I'd share my reasons for not sharing my real name.

I post under Mulerider because I honestly felt I needed a handle. I am not real puter literate and thought I couldn't use my real name. I always sign my real name on all my posts though.

I continue to use my kennel name as a "handle", but I have listed two different web sites in my signature as well as my name. Anyone who wants to know who I am is welcome to look. If you wanted to really bad, you can find directions to my home, along with my telephone numbers....

Nothing to hide, but proud of my kennel name.

I don't walk around town with a t-shirt that has my name and address on it, why would want a bunch of people I don't know to know my name and location.

Nothing to hide here!!!!!!!!

Craig my name is Terry Dalton of Sandy Ridge NC. I use the handle Blue Ice because she is the first coondog we ever owned. That is why I use that handle. Not perfect here either cause if I were they would be wanting to hang me on a cross as well. Take care.

Blue Ice

I should use the handle of my first real coon dog. It was a blue dog from Kelly Braggs breeding, and his name was
"TROUBLE." The handle did not stick, but the breed did. Good to hear from you, and hope to get hooked up for a hunt. We are not that far away.

I have enjoyed reading your post. Interesting, to say the least.
It's sad that an imposter would use your name. I had someone from Tennessee that tried to steal my identity. I don't know why anyone else would want it. It reminds me of the other day:
I saw someone that I thought I knew: They thought they knew me.
I stopped: they stopped.
I turned around: They turned around.
I walked toward them: They walked toward me.
When we met, it wasn't either one of us!

REGARDLESS if

you use your name on this board or not, the MAIN THING is to make sure that your name is written down in the Lamb's book of life. That's where it really counts. You may think I am a religious nut, but I am screwed on the Right bolt. I'm not on so tight so that I could not be screwed on a little tighter, but I am on tight enough so that I won't fall off! I heard someone say, " If you don't know who I am you miss nothing, but if you don't know who Jesus is, you miss everything!"

I originally took my handle from the river that I live on. I used a handle out of caution on the net. I now know that if an evildoer was intent on doing me harm that a handle served no purpose. I just keep Warrior because I have grown attached to it. BTW it's pronounced Mc "Loud".

my name was already taken on here so i just used the name of my coonhound. my first coonhound that is. but i am like heide. my friends on the internet know who i am and where i live. don't want anyone else to have that info. seen too many instances of where someone took advantage of that information.
i post what i feel is right. i give my opinion and there are times it has not been popular. but i also feel everyone has the right to their opinion, you don't have to agree with them you just have to acknowledge that they have the right to give it.
patches is a walker/bluetick cross who looks like a blue english with blue eyes. i don't hunt her. but i have a yr old bluetick that i'm getting started and i have a 5mo old redtick. for some odd reason i am partial to english dogs. but i like the blues as well. don't really know why but i'm not all that crazy about walkers. i think its because most of them are colored like beagles and i don't care for beagles.
