depends on the wound, freshness of wound, location and severity.

If it ant life threating Start with H proxide then clean that out good then pack small wound with bag bomb or simalar save neosporin works great to watkins makes one to . If the cut is around neck id take him to the vet becouse if you fix him and he abses later your going to the vet any way. Also dont so it or staple it all the way put stiches in it and let it drain . Also a turkey baster and water work good to flush and cean wound. Hope he ant to bad hurt. Hope this helps.

He seems to be better. That first day he had me worried. But he is up and acting normal again. He got punctured in the lower stomach-where his stomach meets his back end-He found and bayed a three hundred pound boar for two hours all by himself. We put all the other dogs up because we thought that they didnt get on anything and figured we better get him before dark. I tried tracking him but my tracker sucks and one of my buddies heard a very distant bark so we started going towards it. A hour later we came up on him baying a 300 pounder. We didnt have a gun or any other dogs. To make a long story short we were hoping he would eventually catch him and he tried got cut and luckly he came back. Wont ever make that mistake again.

BEST STUFF ON THE MARKET FOR OPEN WOUNDS, AS FAR AS I'M CONCERNED!

Don't sew or staple that dog let the wound seep if it needs too. Dabb some blue lotion on it and he'll be fine.

wound care

Make sure you flush that out a 3X a day. I would use Betadine.
Peroxide is good to use the first time you flush out the wound,But it will also kill live tissue. It will take longer to heal up.
But also squeeze out any fluid build up while flushing it out. I have used plain old vasaline or tripple antibiotic in the wound. With good results.
I would also get him on some antibiotics right away those suckers are some dirty critters.
