Tracker collar lights problems

This may sound stupid but this seems to be problem.Bought the light that slides on the collar that flashes or will stay on all the time but I let it flash to save life of it can be seen very good but since I put this on him he seems like a different dog.He will not hunt worth a nickel so bad I was ready to get rid of him.Friend of mine said lets leave the light off and see if it helps and it did.He started hunting like he should and getting treed with the meat every night since. But he is scared of lightning and thunder and will not hunt if it is doing either maybe the light flashing reminded him of lightning. All I know is I turned the light out and he began to get with it again.

The flashing works best to be seen but a pup under your feet or on the leash will drive you crazy. I'd try the steady setting and maybe a different color to see if it makes a difference. Red is not supposed to bother your night vision so that might help. On a bad night a while back we had a dog treeing slick more than the others and I wondered if she thought we were shineing the tree with that flashing light on her.

Everyone we turn loose has one of them on them & sometime's two. I have never had a problem but I can see where it could be with the wrong kinda personality & a lil jumpy 'bout the thunder bolt's. Like was mentioned above by Dale, if'n ya got one hangin by ya or worse yet two it will really mess with a person or it does me anyway.

Change the color like was suggested or the steady mode maybe? I know the number of "Gettin grabbed by the yote's" incident's have dropped big time since we been usin them. Watchin them especially now with the leaf's off & on the snow like we have you can see them forever it seem's.

An awsum training/learning tool I think. You don't hav'ta stair at a lil bitty screen to know that your dog is 287 feet away takin a poop.

Them dang gum rubber thing's though!! Never had a problem in any way including submergin them except the rubber bustin to easily. I know where there is a couple that still may be flashin in the rock's! Duct tape work's way better for keepin them on.

The reason i bought it was to keep him from getting hit by a car so they could see him if he crossed a road but i will leave it off and the other night had a coy. 20 yards behind him and ran him off the tree seen that with my own eyes and yelled at it and it just stood there just one of the few times i left the gun in the truck. The light was on then.
