Depends on whether the cat is minutes ahead of you or days ahead of you. The lion in the picture took about an hour for the dogs to tree and a couple hours for us to get to them. We treed a nice tom a couple days later, we turned loose at daylight and got out right at dark. Every track is different.

Looks like fun...

...but I know it's a lot of hard work too. Good to see Jeff cramped up like that...proves he's human... but I can tell you that if he's laid out...that had to be one tough trip to the tree.

Nice looking dogs and great cat pictures.

3 more

We had a good weekend treeing 3 lions. The first was with friend ryan, dogs were boomer, molly, homer, and lilly. It was a short race.

Dogs

Female
Same cat
The next cat was caught with pals Jim and Pat.We found the track at 2 am slept in the truck till daylight when we were getting dogs out Pat went to look at the track when I heard this girlish sceam and looked up to see the lion about running Pat over.It had stayed under the shed we were within 20 yards of all night.WE give it about a half hour head start and let a couple young dogs take it.

First one on Sunday

Pat with dogs

Cat was under this shed

Where cat slept
After BS at the truck we headed home and we cut another one and dumped the dogs.

The dogs on these 2 were boomer homer lilly tikka poacher coot and toby.
And yes that is a warden with the dogs.He went along to see how it was done.fun for all.

That is some crazy stuff!!!!!

Sounds like a great weekend!!! Some good pup training, too. It was a blizzard here this weekend. Seemed like 50 mph winds yesterday. Can't tell for sure how much snow cuz its all in drifts!!! I know Lewistown got 2 ft. in town since Friday P.M.
Great Job!!!
