a friend of mine gave my son a black an tan. it has a thick coat an a bushy tail he said that it had bearcat blood in it. Does the bearcat blood line produce this type of pups.

Ozarks Screamin Shep was called shep for a reason. I like that breeding but it will throw an ugly dog from time to time and more than it's share of shaggy dogs.

None of em are ugly when they are treed with the meat though.

Albert dogs will have some of this too.

I think the Bearcat stuff goes back to the Myers stuff (Shep etc) so that dog would get it's thick coat honest LOL.

I HAD A BLACK TAN YEARS AGO THAT HAD NOT REALY LONG HAIRBUT HAD 2 COATS OUTER WAS LONGER WITH A UNDER COAT OF FINE COTTEN LIKE HAIR WHEN I WOULD BRUSH HIM IN THE SPRING WOULD GET A BUSHEL BASKET OF THIS FINE HAIR; HE WENT BACK TO WILLIE DAVIS SCREAMING EAGLE IWOULD HAVE TO LOOK FOR HIS PEDIGRE TO SEE OTHER DOGS IN IT

ive hunted b&ts for forty years different blood lines most all of them were double coat aspecialty in the winter.the last 25 or so years ive line bred dogs going back to gentleman jim. they have 1inch to one and ahalf inch hair on there backs in the winter plus under wool. the hair on there backs is wavie they shad out petty slick in the summer. i had a female out of willy Davis midnight thunder same kind of coat. I have a female out of my old female thats slick haired line bred back to Guthries decon because i like the old gossett blood for the cold nose and good looks but she sheevers in cold wheather and is hard to keep wheight on her.
