hunting laws

where can i find laws about free casting a dog and what states have right to retrieve your dog or what states will let you call the police so you can go on to posted land to get your dog ?

state of wv does not have a right to retrieve law you must have landowners written permission.

permission is easy to get. Written permission is impossible.

We had the written permission thing in Michigan a while back. It was going around that landowners would be legally responsable for accidents or injuries . I have no idea if that was really true but just the rumor of it made written permission hard to get from somebody you weren't close with. Haven't heard anything about it for quite awhile now so guess we got rid of it. We do have the right to retrieve your dog. No guns, no game taken just get'em and leave. Sounds simple but it's not always and the other side sometimes claims we use it for an excuse to hunt private land.All a matter of which side of the fence you're on I guess.
