Your thingy doesn't say where you are from, but the woman who grooms my mom's dog said that there's a new strain of kennel cough going around that had apparently killed quite a few dogs because they end up with really bad pneumonia? Personally after hearing that, if it was my dog I'd take it to the vet. Although before I heard about that strain, I was under the impression that a relatively healthy dog could clear bordatella on it's own, just might need some cough syrup and/or earplugs (for you!) if it lives in/near your house

Kennel-cough;

Go to a large animal vet. & see if he will sell you a bottle of EXCEED Swine Antibiotic. My vet sold this to me when I had K.C. He said that it is safe for dogs & you only have to give them 1 shot. If you wish you can give them a follow-up shot in 1 week but my vet said he has never saw a case that 1 shot didn't clear it up! Good stuff! I keep it on hand now. The option is the vet will give you Clavanox. A pill every morning & evening for 10 days!.... NO THANKS!!

Been years since we have had that here but we used Doxycycline. Got it from the local pharmacy for CHEAP - knocked the cough right out in a few days. If you have a good relationship with your pharmacist you should be able to get it. If not have your DR call it it for you. 1 pill 2xday for 10 days. Our had stopped coughing by 2nd day but you need to give the full dose.

Good luck! That stuff can get nasty!!
