Minus strike ?

4 dog Nt ch cast.

Dogs ABC open and declared treed. Dog D opens to the left.
We score the tree and its a hole in the ground with a dillar in it. The handler of D wants to minus his 25 strike pts, he claims his dog quit its track. Can a handler minus his own strike pts?

I guess he could if the judge agreed with him.

In this situation was he wanting them minused so he could strike back in for 100, was that his reasoning behind wanting his dog minused????

Virgil

Just what you stated.

A guy can minus his own dog on a tree? Cant he?

Obviously the dog was running something other than the dillar, why shouldn't it be able to go in for 100?

A,B, and C are scratched and D is still on the paper for 25 strike. No he can't - his strike if the dog is still opening, and not breaking the 8. He would strike back in for 100 if the 8 got him, or if after he was treed and recast. Whichever was to come first, but he would stay 25 until then.

Cant he be minused and re struck if it is determined he quit one track and started another??? If the handler and judge both agree this happened then he could be minused the strike points.

I understand why he would want 100 strike. But the only way he can get his strike points minused is if the dog comes in; 8 minute rule gets him; or time out is called, the dog caught, and recasted. Thats the only way he can strike in for 100.

The rules say that there are only two ways for a dog to be minused for quitting a track: a) if the 8 minutes gets him or b)if the dog quits the track and comes in. The dog can't get minused for just quitting a track. It is like the scratching for aggressive behavior, it takes both parts of the rule for it to be done, not just one part.
