I would say your biggest problem would be early in the night, like soon after dark. You would probably get some trees with squirrel nest/holes. Lots of slick trees by the look of them.
I remember in the old days though, most of the realy good cross trained dogs treed squirrels by sight and coons by scent though. I dont remember have much of a problem with them treeing on squirrel trees at night,,,,,,,,,,,,,thats been along time ago so it might be just my bad memory.
I personaly never started dogs on squirrels. Always found a few live traps to be the best pup trainer around.
