The Rehabilitation of Gold Dust

Pulled up last night and he went to barking it up,tail wagging jumping around on his chain telling me he was ready(when he was laid up its like he knew he wasn't able he never barked and it took him a bit to get out the dog house and over to me....I hated that)but now he's BACK pacing around acting like a pup should.1st drop was at 9:31 he jumped the creek(no water) and went right handed fast, opened up about 170yrds and treed around 280yrds away, got there and shined the tree PLUS'EM(had to be a yearling cause he was small and short tailed),let him tree for a bit and then pulled him off and walked off the tree and loved him up real good(I never touch him on the tree "jmo" I think it can lead to slick treeing and meeting you off the tree)JMO...Went to next spot cut him in he was about 30yrds in front of me smelling up making circles acting crazy I thought but he then went right handed again a couple min later he opened and then barked up twice 240 somem yrds away then shut up,I heard him coming like a bat outta hell back my way!!(I immediately start shining around don't want ol ricky coming to me lol) he crossed up there were he was messing earlier and kept going left handed he went 327yrds and fell treed(I think he ran it backwards at the start) I started walkin in and he shut up for a good min(chewing a vines, not the best thing for a comp dog but its about a tale tale sign that he's got'em up there)but started back treeing on the same tree and when I got there saw the vine he was tangled up in lol but still chopping away lol, started shinning and saw him(PLUS EM) out on a limb so I called my buddy to rub it in(we all do sometime) and while I was talking and lookin another set of eyes popped out 2 coons!!!!walked him back and loved on him and took him home....

FRIDAY NIGHT

Turned him loose were I had the two in one last night,he went out of hearing quick(0.93 miles by Garmin) when I got to him he was treed about 20yrds from a house, got there and saw the coon(PLUS'EM) leashed him and loved him up as I walked da road back around to turn out spot.
Next drop turned him and didn't hear nothing for 15 min or so,I then heard him right handed up the valley treed, got there and it was a big tall oak that branched into a bigger oak that was leafy(looked for a while and quit)no loving him just loaded up.
Third drop always water in the creeks here(honey hole)cut him in and within 10 min he had one up or it was a lay up coon cause he opened and treed in the same breath leashed him and loved him up and went home.full moon in the high 60's

Saturday Night

Got started kinda late about 10:30 went to Rocky River in Concord NC(for a lack of water around most of my spots)cut him and he opened about 200 yrds away and ran him back to 76 yrds before he fell treed, walked in and saw the coon(PLUS EM) in a small tree about 25ft tall he was at the very top of the tree(swaying I thought he was gonna jump out but he didn't)so I walked him out to the right away and petted him real good.
2nd turn out, walked back to lower side of river he started winding so I cut him didn't hear from him for sometime then I heard him treeing looked at the garmin and it was pointing his way about 660yrds ,I walked to him and he had crossed over and was on the other side close to the bank I shined from my side didn't see nothing,so I crossed and got to him and he was soaking wet but I didn't see no eyes, got to looking at the tree and it was a wet streak all the way up to the first limbs, hmm I shined again no eyes so I pulled him off and crossed back over, looked back like I always do....eyes(PLUS EM)
3rd turn out, stopped at the(honey hole)turned him went in and struck in real quick and gave a loooong bawl locate(rare for him)and started chopping got there and for the life of me couldn't find no eyes(go figure)it was big but open and alone so I just leashed him and took him home, noticed he was limping a little on that foot so we probably want go tonight.

Tuesday Night

1st turn out last night(fresh cut corn field, light drizzle)he went in and started jumping around sniffing no more then 20yrds from where I cut him!!!I'm getting mad by the second then he just barked and fell treed on a medium sized branchy tree!!!I got to looking and saw him on a limb dam near right over my head(PLUS'EM)!!
2nd drop(Sent him from the tree)he was gone 10 min or so and I heard him open deep in there and then nothing, heard the garmin beep got it out and he was treed about 720yrds up over 2 hills that's why I couldn't hear him!Walked in and he saw one in a 20ft tree right beside the big oak he was treed on(now I'm thinking how he miss that) tree well as I swung around to other side I saw why, another coon was in the big oak oh well(PLUS'EM)
3rd drop(spot we call Da Pines)hard wood on one side, pine on other, sent him in and he opened quick and treed about 210yrds left handed, new he was in the bamboo stalks on side of the pond in there, its about 3 trees in the middle of those stalks and most of the time they tree there, only once have we seen the coon in there you have to go on the other side of the pond and shin over(screw that, its so hard getting through those stalks!!!!got to him loaded him up and took it in.
Well no limping so it was a good nite.

Wednsday night.......welp

Took him out to the honey hole at 7:45 and turned him,he left out barking(1st time ever doing this)but hushed up after about 4 barks and he struck in and ran out of hearing,so I tightend up on him and heard him treed about 450 plus on the other side of the road(1 home so its never busy)as I'm walking guess who I see hobbling my way?that's right ol rickey he went right by me at a easy going pace not a worry in da world,so I get to GldDust and I can't find a coon in his tree but it was real tight in there but still no coon seen so I l leashed him up and went on
2nd drop I went to the land fill spot turned him in,never heard nothing then all of a sudden he fell treed about 230yrds right handed down in a valley, well I get there at its a split tree at the base with a squirrel nest about 20 feet up not that big of a tree but I want climbing to see so I leashed him up and (a little pettin not much) and went on got to the gate to load up and he took off fly(like he was going to go climb it himself)I had to walk all the way down there and get stupid but here's the kicker when I got back the coon was in plain site above the nest go figure but I didn't pet him up I snatch him and told him how I felt walking back to that tree(he got it too didn't even have to grab the leash all the way back
Took him home gonna rest him tonight so I can hunt all weekend.
