Another Strike ?

4 dog cast

dog A opens for 100, dog B for 75, Dog C for 50 and D for 25.
Dogs C and D split tree both circle. Dog C re-casts and strikes for 50. Dog A trees; coon is seen. Dog B trees; coon is seen (with Dog A still on leash). Release dogs AB into CD, does dog A go in for 25 or 100?

First you put the 8 on dogs C and D, once they open you cast back into them for 25. The only time you would go back in for 100 is if its a Non-working dog. In my opinion that is a dog that won't get treed but keeps the strike open. Although after reading the other Strike??? thred I'm not sure. That rule say after 2 coons seen so I realy don't know.

7. NON-WORKING DOG:

If dog is not working as part of cast and is holding first strike or second strike, etc., all strike points will be open to other dogs after coons have been treed and seen in two separate trees, or one hour of hunting time has elapsed.

Coon seen in two seperate trees. Strike back in for 100

yes all go in for 25. yes two coons where seen but c/d treed and circled then re cast so there is no dog holding 100 open or any thing really so i would say 25 each till all are re cast. now if say dog d struck and not treed then after the two coons yes you go back in for 100. lets see what jim has to say he is norm right on this

It doesn't matter. If 2 coon are seen you go back to 100.

Let's say we are in a 4 dog cast and ol' blue is out pushing a cold track around and is struck in for 50 points. In the mean time the other three dogs have been struck, treed and plussed. Then you recast these 3 dogs and strike, tree and plus them. If ol' blue is still out coldtracking struck in on his original 50 points you recast the other 3 dogs to him and strike in at 100.

i would say none are working dogs.working dog competes
for the same strike and tree.that is why they have 1 set of
strike pts.

What's the difference? I can strike in over Ol' Blue in my example because 2 coon were seen. In Todd's example 2 coon were seen while dog C is out trailing. Why can't I strike in over him?

These rules are getting to be too confusing. Lets go back to the old days when whoever comes back with the most furs wins. Just like dan and lil' Ann
