MAKE IT SIMPLE , ENGINES NEED, AIR FUEL AND SPARK, BACK FIRING COULD BE BECUASE OF RESTRICETED AIR FLOW, SO CHECK YOUR EXHAUST , DISCONNECT THE CONVERTER AND START IT IF IT FIXES THE PROBLEM THERE YOU GO IF NOT THEN YOU NEED TO START WITH EMISSIONS AND SPARK CHECK YOU DISTRIBUTOR CAP AND ROTOR AND PLUGS AND MAKE SURE THAT YOU HAVE IT IN THE RIGHT FIRING ORDER, BUT I WOULD BET THAT WITH THE PROBLEM YOU DESCRIBED THAT YOU HAVE RESTRICTED EXHAUST OR YOU HAVE A PROBLEM WITH YOUR CAP ROTOR , PLUGS , OR WIRES, WHICH COULD BE YOUR FIRING ORDER,
