red cell

Does any one use it as a supplement with your dogs? I have a dog thats not fat at all. Looks find of pour I cant make him get fat. I have been feeding high protein dog feed but I just bought a lesser protein and fat feed so I can cut the others back alittle. Would the red cell help. If so how do you feed it? Thanks alot

You really need to be careful with it you can heat a dog to quick on it i dont like it at all you need to look at your feed you need a higher fat in your feed in the summer you need a low protein so they dont over heat up as fast i feed 21% protein in the summer dogs are doing well on it

don't know a thing about red cell for dogs, but it sure puts some run in a running horse i have used it for years and liked what results i got from it.

feeding a well balannced dog food you shouldn't need any supplements at all i feed diamond and i'm hunting a 9 year old hound that will be in front of most of the younger hounds she has never run out of steam she gets wormed on a scedule and fed meat based diamond dog food higher protein in cooler weather and lower in hot weather.

what is it that you people that fed red cell expect out of it that you didn't get redcell has to build up up in the blood it's not an instant result the main thing it does is to help a hard worked hound come back quicker

if the food is only 8 percent fat the rest of the ingredients must be just as worthless.a dog gets it's reserve energy from fat the protein must be lowered not the fat a dog that is continualy fed ultra protein will surely end up with kidney problems you can't condition a dog with food you have to excersise them.

I used red cell for my race dogs. I used it every day (squirted 5-10mL down their mouth with a syringe) and I could tell a difference in faster starts and endurance at the end of a race. I think it's a good supplement to good dog food and hard physical conditioning. It also seemed my dogs recovered quicker with red cell, too.

Please, take this with a grain of salt... a 5 min. dog race is a long one. But, I also know folks who "open field" their dogs all day that use red cell.

I agree red cell is a good product i have used it in my horses but a hound does not need it no way it only heats them up a good dog food is better than any red cell and 20% fat is good low protein in the summer high in the winter

red cell is just that a red cell builder has nothing at all to do with high or low protein raceing uses differant muscle and prpbably won't help a hunting dog at all a racer needs high speed frpom the get go a hound uses differant muscle while hunting and needs more endurance than burst of speed however building up the blood helps both to recover faster from hard work. redcell also needs to be used awhile before improvement is noticed. i have a brother whose hobby is raceing homing pigeons and is at the top of the game he has and uses redcell in there drining water

I went yesterday and bought a 24% pro./20% fat dog feed I am going to feed this and see how it works.

I have been making one drop then roading my male to the next drop. Some time I road him 3 miles then all the hunting he's doing after we get to where we make a drop. He did pretty good night before last.

csnowgren I see what your saying and agree. My male dog is a little on the pour side now real bad but slimmer than the others. For some reason he cant tree like he used to. He will locate and tree a few barks and you will have to go find him. He will lay down under the tree. And he acts like he is over heated. Thanks for all the reply's

We always feed our dogs as soon as we get them home from hunting. That is the best time to feed, because their muscles are loosened up and sore and the protein helps build more muscle, to repair what the dog used in hunting. In the summer, a dog doesn't need as much fat and protein, it only goes straight through and you are left to clean up what the body didn't need. You can feed and feed, but if the body doesn't need the food, it just passes out what it didn't use and you are left cleaning up piles of DOO.Cut back on the fat for sure. They need higher fat in the winter to keep warm, but not in the summer. To much protein will harm their kidneys too.

The best dog food I have found yet is Prism. I've fed that for 3 yrs. now and my dogs do awesome on it. I feed 26/18 all year long and my dogs stay in good shape.

Check you ingredients list. Whatever is listed first is what the dog food is mainly made up of. You want a meat base ingredient first, not ground corn or cooked corn. Also I do not feed anything with soy in it. Soy produces gas (you know, they get the farts) and I know of dogs that have died from bloat, eatting a dog food with soy in it. We lost a super nice Walker to bloat and the food we were feeding had soy in it. Vet said that is most likely what caused the bloat.

I think if you need weight on him I'd let him ride between drops when you're hunting instead of roading him up to 3 miles between drops like you stated in the earlier post. If you got him in good shape he don't need it unless you're just road hunting for a strike in between drops.
