Thanks to the Wyatt, IN Coonhunters for TWB&FA Youth Extravaganza
The 2009 Treeing Walker Breeders & Fanciers Association held its 5th Annual Youth Extravaganza on Saturday June 13, 2009 in Wyatt, IN. There were 20 entries in the show and 55 in the hunt. Although it rained early in the day, things cleared up nicely by the afternoon and evening.
The Wyatt Conservation and Coonhunting Club did an outstanding job of putting on the event. Thanks to everyone who helped out by setting up, cooking in the kitchen, donating a pup/stud fee or other prize, helping with the show, guiding, judging, cleaning up and just showing up. A special thanks goes out to Mike Carmack, Tom Lechlitner, Alan Kalal (show judge), Trent Stanley, Rob Giddings, Don Hall, Saul Hall and a bunch of other folks whose names I don't know, but who worked hard all day to make things run right. Thanks, also, to the parents/adults who helped prepare their kids and took them to the event. Finally, congratulations to all of the kids who participated in the event. The winning show dogs were as nice as I've seen at any event.
Roughly $8,000 in scholarships. belt lights, duffle bags, dog food, squallers, stop-watches, books, t-shirts, hats and other prizes were awarded at the event. It was pretty amazing to see everything. Also, I believe the final count was 43 stud fees or pups were donated and awarded as door prizes to the kids who entered.
I don't have the list of show and hunt winners on me, but I'm sure we'll get those up soon.
