Jackie has given you the advice that I would second, there are many different strains and bloodlines of Plotts that could do the job for you weather its Big game or Coon that you wish to pursue. By attending Plott days you can view first hand the parents of some of the pups that will be offered for sale, as well as watch the results of the Bench shows and or Night hunts to get a idea of what direction you want to go.
One person I would recommend you may want to visit with would be Jim Garrison of Missouri, his dogs may suit you and their outstanding competition dogs. We have a male here that belongs to a friend thats out of his Ranger dog that is a fine looking Plott and is loaded with ability.
The gentleman that has the Bullet pups may also have what your looking for, years ago I hunted with Bullet on Bear and he was outstanding and a complete Bear dog.
The other recommedations certainly merit consideration as well.
What you want or what pleases one may not please another. Best of luck in your pursuit to purchase a pup.
