scabbed feet on pups

A buddy of mine has a litter of feist pups about 2 weeks. All of the pups feet have scabbed up all the way to the first joint and on the bottom and some appear to be swollen. The box is plastic and is dry and clean. Anybody ever seen this?

Its a sign of low Imunities to infections .. Mild Antibotics should clear them up in days.. I had the whole pad split wide open on a pup..

It could also be urine scald if he is not keeping them clean, or a reaction to the product he is cleaning the box with, or a reaction to the bedding itself, or even the type of plastic the box is made of. Some people use indoor/outdoor carpeting to give better traction to the puppies, but it tends to irritate the feet.
He needs to think about everything that the puppies feet are coming in contact with, and start changing things until he figures it out.
