white vs black pads

Is there any truth that black pads are tougher than white pads on dogs feet?

Thanks

I know that there is a difference in Dark vs Light Mule and horse hooves. Guess I never thought about it in dogs.

thanks, i've always heard that black was tougher. I just bought/rescued two walkers from someone that has no right to own a dog and they have partially white pads. i've always tried to avoid white pads and walkers but these two needed some help.

There have been many studies on this subject on both Horses and dogs and they have proven this to be a myth. Has everything to do with genitic makeup and to be able to produce Biotin which makes up hair, hoofs, pads.
Some of the worst footed dogs I have ever owned had black feet

black and rigid. i found more rigid patterns have tougher feet. some are black or dark but smooth.
