world hunt/purina

why isn't the world hunt the last hunt of the year making it the last stand for the purina hounds to gain points.

what would change if the world hunt was in december. would the majority of hunters be willing to try it on a 1 year trail.

December would eliminate the northern states from consideration because the weather is too risky that time of year. Nobody , atleast no one I know of, wants a World hunt in 2 feet of snow.

I has been in Indiana a bunch of times....like about every other year and if you don't believe we can have 2 feet in December, then you haven't ever been here in December.

I would like to hunt without the leaves on the trees as well, but there is alot going against you in October and November around here. Kill season is open for starters. Hide hunters will be out in force. Deer hunters are so territorial that time of year alot of guys who guide can't hunt spots they normally do. Also trapping season is open as well.

Wade, If it makes you sleep better at night believing this, then go right ahead and keep dreaming.

There are plenty of hunts held around here without leaves, I dont think attendance suffers at all...and the same dogs win.

The other KC has it's World Hunt in the dead of winter, deep south, no leaves, thin coon and guess what? Those hotnosed, can't run a track, slick teeeing idiot Walker dogs still win. Bury your hatchet.

World hunt

I love the time of year it is in Ukc, and hope it stays that away. A hunt with leaves off for coon dogs. My ? to those that complain about these slick treeing dogs that keep winning the world hunt is this. While were walking to and scoring those slick treeing idiots and even if its a circle tree, WHY AINT YOUR SUPER COONDOGS OUT THERE TREEING THOSE REAL LIVE COONS. They should have plenty of time. You would think they should be able to double up on those circle treeing dogs. The bottom line to me is this, a WORLD CHAMPION COON DOG is as good with the leaves on or off, and for you that are complaining you can't beat these dogs, than you better stay home and save your money, and maybe take your wife out for a night on the town because you don't have a coondog of that caliber. I've heard this for years and its the most childish thing I've ever heard. Get a coondog and you want half to complain so much.

And go back to the UKC World Hunt scorecards from the last few years and count up all the circle trees from the Final Four casts. That will also take some air out of the "leaves off" thing.

i am not saying

walkers are not coon dogs i am A WALKER MAN.wat i am saying is IT SHOULD BE HELD IN THE WINTER TIME INSTEAD OF WORM WEATHER WHERE THOES HOT NOSE DOGS LOOK GOOD BUT PUT THE SAME CAST OUT IN THE WINTER AND THE BETTER COON DOG WILL WIN THE HUNT THAT WAY.

They ain't gonna do that Jim , then they wouldn't have no excuse as to why their not finding coon in their dogs trees when the leaves are on. Can't be because they're not there. Everybody at the World hunt has got to be cheating. LOL

DONT CIRCLE ANYTHING, YOU SEE A COON U PLUS, U DONT SEE A COON U MINUS, STOPS ALL THE ARGUING. ITS LIKE GOING TO A FISHING DERBY AND WINNING CAUSE U GOT MOST NIBBLES. IF THEY WOULD ONLY PLUS OR MINUS A TREE THEN DONT MATER LEAVES OR NOT.

I think if the UKC world hunt was held where the lieve were off the score would be much higher. Easyer to find the coons, guys you ain't winning the world hunt by treeing blanks.

'Yall might find it very interesting to see how many trees are actually circled during the week of the Finals starting with Thursday night. Not very many. And...........far less than most might think. Kinda goes hand-in-hand with the theory that if there's a coon there then 9 out of 10 times you'll find it. ??

Next to invermec and rough dogs , a leaves off World Hunt is prolly the most popular subject for discussion on here. I bet this one will pop up again within the month.

my thoughts on the subjetc are simple , just like on here people talk about not having the CALIBER of dogs to go to the world. but alot of what you or anyone needs is a little luck , any dog ,ANY DOG , can win any hunt any given night . your dog may be better than mine tonight and mine might be better tomorrow ........ PERIOD

I hunt Ind, Oh and Michigan a lot in dec and they dont get 2 feet of snow in dec. Most years they wont have much snow till the last of dec and even then it is not to bad. They do have some years when they get it early but not many. Ukc could have this hunt in the first 2 weeks of dec. and everything would be fine. I dont think you see as many blanks as people like to say but we all know why they say it. The only reason they say it is because the walkers win and the other breeds dont thats a fact. The Akc world hunt just showed again that them walkers tree coons not slick like the other breed hunters like to say. I say have it in dec. then they will start talking about some other reason they get beat every year. The next thing will be they hunt more walkers Thats wright they started that one when the akc world hunt was held.
