Tracker Flash Lights in the Hunts???

Now that the Tracker Flash Light has been made for a reasonable price and most guys have them, should it be manditory to have one on the dogs for the hunts?

I'd like to see some of the opinions on this...

Thanks!

yes, but if you can afford a $20 or $25 entry fee, you surely can afford a $20 light...

Yes I think they should be manditory so you know for sure what dogs are doing. Lot of people probably wouldn't like them because their dogs would be minused more.

NO!

You go to a hunt to compete your hound, it is your own choice whether you want a light, tracking collar, gps, or whatever on your hound.

Sometimes I find myself scraping up the money for entry fees and gas to go to the hunts when I should be spending it on something more important..... Don't know why but I do.

I worked hard for the money to buy my tracking system and lighted collars, but I choose not to wear them in the hunts (the lights).....Only because some hunters see that as an advantage over you.

If you're going to make the light mandatory why not make the GPS mandatory.....so we can sit back at the club and watch it on the computer. Sheeeez, give the dogs a break.

for instance it might help the judge see which dogs are really on the tree while walking in and which ones that are just milling around and jump up on when the cast gets near...

Ok this is crazy, so when you go huntin are YOU going to make sure everyone on your cast has a different color light, so we know who's dog is who's????? Just because the light moves a little on the tree your going to minus the dog, well your going to look like a !@* when you get to the tree and the dog under the canopy of the tree. Here and Ideal just call you dogs and let the Judge do his or her job, and yes I have a light on my dog. Not to use it to tell if my dog is treed or not (thats why hounds bawl and track and chop on tree) I use mine hopefully so my dog doesn't get hit by a car. this is crazy lol lol lol

Yes, but the main idea of a kennel club is to better the breed.

If a light prevents a dog from obtaining a degree because faults are now seen instead of hidden by darkness, then wouldn't that better the breed?

I think most people are saying "NO" because they are afraid of being minused on account of the light.

If EVERYONE has one on... then isn't a level playing field that honors a dog that deserves a degree?

wouldn't the degree be more renowned?

One more thing. I have never been in a hunt yet, but I will be hopefully very shortly. I WILL for sure be using a lighted collar on my dog. It increase the odds that your dog wont be smashed on the road, and my dog is MUCH more important to me that a title. If she deserves it she will earn it eventually, light or not light!

IF

THEY EVER STOOP TO MAKING A LIGHT MANDATORY, THEN ALL DOGS BEEN CONVICTED OF A SCRATCH FOR FIGHTING, MANDATORY PULLING OF ALL TEETH.

ABOUT THE SAME OUTCOME, NEITHER WILL NEVER HAPPEN!!

This thread has everyone all babbling!!

Not a very close comparison at all either. I say if you enter your dog in night hunt and it starts a fight. If they know for a fact which dog started it, it should get shot right there on the spot. If an owner has 2 dogs shot for this in the same year, they should get shot also!!

I'm still wondering why everyone can turn a light on during a night out training, yet when competition time rolls around the lights are all of the sudden "no good".

some of the same people voting no are the same one's swearing up and down by the lights.

i'm still looking for some good reasoning of why NOT to wear lights in the hunts...

not exactly .. what happens if 2 dogs have the same color? Depending on what colors your using its sometimes hard to tell which one your seeing. ex one nite we were out had a green on one and a clear on the other. We couldn't tell for sure if it was just the dog with green or both dogs.

I have tracker flashes, I wear them on the dogs every nite i'm out. All but one hunt I handled my dog in since I got them he had a light on.

maybe the prefix (with a light on) and (without a light on) should be placed in front of NITECH so everyone will know that a dog was titled out with or without a light and that will make the degree more legit because that dog must not leave trees, babble, fight, run junk etc.

I can see it now the all (with a light on) GRNITECH pedigree!!
WOW!
