17 to 36 hour battery life, rechargeable lithium ion

That is why I am glad I have regular old radio telemetry collars and tracking system. After recovering two hounds that were out for over 5 days, I am glad I had that system instead of the latest and greatest with those '30' collars that last only 36 hours max.
Even though they are great for pinpointing a hound's exact location, such as when dogs are on one side or the other of a body of water, i.e. ponds, lakes, swamps, rivers, ........ if those dogs get gone for more than 36 hours, then you have no signal..........then you have no idea where they are. Like I said, the Commander is happy with those old tracking systems.

Remember: pray for our troops and pray for our country, we need it now more than ever.

My question would be, why did you have to leave them out for 5 days anyway?? I have never left a dog out since I have had a tracking system and the only one I know of that was lost got into a cave and couldn't be tracked with any system..

Its true the Garmins only last a couple of days before recharging , but with the roof top antenna's extra range , I dont see how you could lose a dog. jmo.

Longshot:
jmo too, radio telemetry systems still have advantages over the newfangled system. That was the point of the post.
Come to Eastern Carolina and hunt some of these pocosins, carolina bays and other areas that are only passable with crawing on your belly, machete hacking or heavy machinery and you will see why I left them out. Also they were on some judge owned land that has a bad rep for tresspassers and aint no body going on there to retrieve hounds unless you go renegading, that is what I finally did.
Glad you never have left dogs out that long.
