Working members & a member beyond reproach to be your treasurer. also members that are dedicated as can be for your club officers. it doesn't take but about 6 to 8 dedicated , trustworthy, working members to make a club flourish as long as they take pride in the club you can make it work. In our club you have to work 6 hunts & attend at least 3 monthly meetings to be a member in good standing. we have members that keep the lawn mowed & will moh when needed & have members that are kitchen help but we all swap out in kitchen if need be. myself & our secretary swap out moh duties so the other moh can hunt , it gets frustrating sometimes whenyou have other moh that don't swap out but thats part of it. I became one to relieve our secretary because it just wasn't right for him to do all of them & it works out well. theres more to clubs than just hunting the hunts & judging or guiding casts if your going to have a top notch club, but a few with real dedication can make it happen.

I agree with Les. I'm a the Sec. of our club and we have a lot going on. It gets rough at times too. As said you have to have at least 5-8 dedicated members working hard and others to take up slack. We are fortunate to have ladies dedicated to the kitchen and they let us know what and when they need something too. They are just as much a part and a helpful part of club success.

The people replying to you are giving you good advice. You will always have a few sitting back complaining about everything. If they would only put half that energy into helping, but there is always a reason they won't or can't help.

4 to 8 good workers would give a club a chance to make it. They will be doing most of the work but you will be able to get a little help from others by asking but most of the work will fall onto the shoulders of a very few people.

Having a place is a big plus. Getting a couple of the better halfs to run the kitchen is a plus. Having a few youngsters that is excited about the sport and club can be very helpful.

Above all the people doing the work need to be honest and insist on running honest events. The word gets out if events are good or bac. If the word is good the club will grow and prosper.
