Anyone on here work as a butcher? I have been kicking around the idea on learning another trade and this was on the list.
Any good or bad stories are welcome and how does one get some training other than OJT ?

I used to be the butcher for the local locker plant. Plan on getting lots of cuts and stitches lol isn't that bad of work but the slaughtering is bout the worst.

I did quite a bit of skinnning in a fur buyers shop growing up and know about sharp knives and cuts,LOL.
I see the words "used to be" what are ya doing now and what does it pay on average-butchering/meat cutting that is?

Well laid off now lol was at Lund Boats, but never got paid a whole lot at the locker plant belive when i quite was up to 9 bucks a hour but my boss was cheap if get in the right place should be in the 12 to 16 bucks but thats round here to.
