I would imagine keeping them in a warm place would be the most important thing this time of year. Momma will do most your work for ya more than likely.

Get them out of your house as soon as you can for sure! My grandma used to have a squirrel in her house when we were young. He would stay in a cage at night and roam the house during the day. Couple years after he died my grandma found were it had made a nest in little hidden corner. There was seriously ten boxes of tissues in that nest along with all the stuff the squirrel had stolen over the years! haha

droopydog this last summer we raised a baby squirrel. the best

thing to do is to have them a nice warm spot in the dark.we let

ours run around the house and he made a nest behind a chair

but it wasn't hard to clean up. also the one we raised was about

4 or 5 weeks old and we didn't have the momma so don't handle

the babies because she might kill them if your scent gets on them

and for giving the momma food give her peanuts acorns corn ect.

and when they get 4 weeks old i want one!

and if you get a bigger cage put the little one in the big one and

let them come out as they want to also we went to petsmart

and bought a little thing that birds go in and our squirrel loved it

oh and don't let them chew on electrical wires thats how ours

died

Squirrels

If the mother will take care of them then let her, but if she dont, you will need a eyedropper, 2nd step puppy weaning food and they need to get fed about every 2 hours, oh and alot of time. We hand raised 2 squirells and it was alot of work.

Well in the past week the baby squirrels and there mamma have went from living in the trailer park to living in Beverly Hills!!! Over the weekend myself and my step-dad built the squirrels a new cage. It is around 4'6'' Tall, 36'' Wide, and 30'' deep. There is a log (tree) for the squirrels to climb up and I built them a nice box to live in up top beside the tree. What do yall think????

A Front/Left picture of there new cage

A front view of the cage

A clean-out tray to keep their messes down to a minumum with an easy cleanup

And last but not least here is Mamma squirrel with her babies (If you look to the right you will see part of one of the babies. There are 3 in total)

WONDERFUL

What a Great squirrel condo! My sisters(all WAY older than me...) grew up with a squirrel named Chipper. It was unusual in the Boston MA area to have a pet squirrel. I don't recall the story but I assume she was orphaned and hand raised.
Your momma and babies are very lucky! Enjoy! Heather

Sad News:

I came home to day and discovered that the mamma squirrel had killed all 3 of her babies!! I hated that this happened cause I had high hopes of keeping one as a pet. Does anyone have any idea as how I might get another baby squirrel to keep as a pet? Ive heard of people raising them for the Wildlife offices but dont know how true this is? Any help will be appriciated. Thanks

Very nice condo ya made there and sorry to hear the momma did that. There may of been something wrong with them or all the stress was too much for her.

i raised a litter of baby bunnies once. My dad ran over the nest with the mower and diced the momma to bits. Eye dropper fed them buggers every two hours and as soon as they were old enough we took 'em to the woods. We did lose two....one my dog ate and one just died.
