Most coon (treed) in a night

My personal record is 42. I did end up with 77 that night, but had some doubles and lay-ups. All in river bottoms and swamps.

hunt

Or maybe just hunting the best kept secret in the country. Come for a hunt... PM me for pedigree on this gyp. That may get your attention on how these kind-of hunts happen.

Well gee, I was gonna say 9 singles in a night was good, and the best I'll ever do again.

Out here in CA, 9 is a pretty good number! The dogs have to work!

Hi Joe,

Guess I have been doing this too long. I just don't look at the success of a night to the number of coons harvested.

I remember a night a few years back that I went hunting with two young men at the first Ashley Social Club Buddy Hunt. Now we didn't tree many coons that night, but I remember that night as a very good night.

Sharing great experiences and watching good dog work with friends and family is what makes a good night into a great night for me.

You kill 23 coon here and you would probably not tree anymore for weeks.

Carolina hunting is similar to TN. The most single coons that I have treed in one night is 12 and that was an exceptional night. I don't see for the life of me how 77 coon could be treed in one night. But if you did can I please come and go hunting with you? Thanks and good hunting to you.

I'm impressed that there that many coon in MI. We in this part N.E. you would be lucky to tree that many coons in a three month season..A wise old man told me a long time ago, once you kill them they don't run again...Tell me Brandon did this harvest make your hounds any better...I rather doubt it..

Guys I know the area that Ben and Brandon hunt. There are many hunters who regularly harvest in excess of 150 coons/year in that general area. It doesn't hurt our population, and if any thing it helps decrease the chances of huge disease die-offs. This pressure isn't even considering the farmers using fly bait & pepsi.

Trust me, Michigan is not Tennessee or Maine.

A good dog will tree ALOT of coon in southern, MI. But there's only so much time in one night. If it took the dog 5 minutes to strike a track and tree it. It probably would take a guy 5-10 minutes just to get to the tree. If you're not chasing behind the dog like in a nite hunt? Then you might even shine the tree for a few minutes before you even see it. 40 some trees is possible here... I will say I'd like to hunt the property he was on .

Had a guy here from minnesota picking up a pup say they treed 46 one night & home by 12:30. he said they were very thick where he hunts & sounds to me like that's the case lol . but it sure doesn't happen like that here in Kings Mtn. Ky. On nights that coon are really moving we have treed 5 or 6 in a hour & half but those nights are few & far between, 1 a night every night would tickle me to death lol

I think I remember treeing 9 one night a few years back. 4 of those were in the same tree. 9 in a night is unheard of in my part of the country.

I have been up in Indiana/Ohio and treed anywhere from 15-20 in a night. Man those guys have it good.....
