Our pup was barking yesterday to, in her box. I thought she was frozen in it, nope, just playing with her squeaky toy and barking at that. She is a goof. Think it's a Redbone thing!

got up yesterday morning ,it was 16 degrees outside, and looked out at my 2 females. they were asleep in middle of the pen curled up in the grass. the hounds have an insulated dog house but don't get in it unless it is raining. that might not be to bad for you yankees but down here for us rednecks it is cold.I think I would quit hunting if it stayed this cold.

now thats cold......did ya get that bark and put it in the deep freeze so you could show folks later?????????

i think coon hounds are more resiliant to cold weather than most think........back in the early 90's i had my dogs don in the pasture.some ina pen and two on a chain....it was in the 20's one nite and snowing.....i woke up around 2 am went down and checked on them.....all the dogs had pushed al there hay out of there houses or barrel and was curled up sleepng away.....i put all the hay back and got them back in the houses,,,,,went back to bed...... the next morning i went down to feed...5 inches of snow on the ground...... and there awas all the dogs. hay back out on the ground all curled up sleeping....yelled at up Chow time like always. they all bounced up tails waggin.....repeated the same the next nite....... 2 am went down back out in the snow... curled up outside......just leftem......
