Central MI Sportsman Culb Fur By

Wow didn't expect to see what I did when I pulled into at the club tonight. Cars all over the place and a packed house most seamed pleased with the price. Top coon $18 one lot of 205 sold for $3075 a $15 average. He plans to return in late Feb. so watch for it Dan

Hellbilly, they really were not done up right. The big lot that sold were stretched to much and made them look thin. This was what the fur buyer said also. The buyer was real good with the guy and told him what he needed to do and I think the guy liked the help as any of us would. The buyer done good by the guys selling and some kids also sold some fur and he done them even better. This buyer would buy everything you brought to sell. He did not refuse to buy anything from anyone. We need this kind of buyer to come around more.

he gives them more because he is buying Michigan coon from them , not IND. you may not think there is a differce but there is.

You said you avg. 16 I know some guys that done much better than that last year on michigan coons. Phil also said the same thing that our coons are much better coons. He said that when he lower grade michigan coons he can sell them with his better ind. coons so ours must be a better coon up here. Now I no not all of them are I am just talking the avg coons

Had a buyer tell me 6-8$ and hell be here this saturday and was linin up folks who had fur to make it worth his time........I told him I'll help him secure a spot to buy ...I 'll call ya right back........

The only thing I can say is I hunted with a fur buyer from Niles MI. for 30 yrs his name was BC Alford he was one of the most onest fur buyers around. he always told me Mich. coon would bring more then IND. coon would. we do 90% of our hunting in Mich. we sold coon last year for as high as 32.00 for XXX when all the fat was out of it we got a 20.50 cent avrg.
to tell you the truth fur has never droped i was at a fur auction a few years back and stood and heard the buyers haveing a meeting and they decided before the auction what they would pay that day so what does that tell you.

If any of you knew BC Alford he passed away 2 weeks ago at the age of 80 something he was a very fine man and hunter .
