Location Change for 2004 Bluetick Reunion

I will notify all once it is locked in, but looks like we will be going up the road a bit to the Swainsboro club and their facility. Once I have the conformation I'll be be sure to let everyone know, but we will not be returning to the Evans Co Wildlife Club in Claxton, GA.

We will have the same date in Feb and I'm told this club is about 4 exits back North-West from claxton. David Bialik and Ed Willis gave this location high marks, so I'm just waiting on the contract and then the ok from UKC.

Just wanted to give everyone a heads up,

Do you know if they have the same type of hotel facilities as Claxton did? Especially ones that will allow pets (read "hounds")?

I not positive, however I think Swainsboro is a little bigger than Claxton and probably has a little better lodging accomodations.

I've been to Swainsboro several times in connection with The Hunter's Horn magazine covering field trials for fox hounds--there is a very large fox pen there. Swainsboro has many good motels which should be fine for everyone. Good luck.

Yes, I've been told this area is much bigger, more hotels...closer and just a bigger facility and area. Its can park about 500 vehicles so we should have no problems, and as I get the info I'll let you all know more as I get it.

It's still a long ways for me, and with going to the Southern Fall Classic in NC in Oct, and then to the Great Western Shoot-Out in Okla in Nov. plus I will be down to the Winter Classic for the Purina Advisory Committee meeting, don't know if I'll make this one or not !!

Thank Goodness I've got Dave Bialik, Ed Willis, Jerry Hackworth, Charles Locklear, David Gardin, and Ben & Melinda Britt and Bill & Eva Bennett to hold down the fort !!!!!!!!!
I know they can handle it if I can't make it, will try but have to see what goes on, plus my youngest daughter is getting married in May so Vacation time is being blocked in right now, and it's going fast !!!!!!!

well now remember I said Billiards was not my game, never was or has been LOL !!!! I just never got into the game, but if I do come down you can bet I'll get some lessons so I can redem myself !!!!!!!

I just don't know if driving all that way twice within a couple of weeks is something this old beat up body can take LOL you know with all those exits from Airplanes I don't function as well as I should LOL

We'll see, if I get someone to go with me maybe !!!!!!

I'd like to make all the hunts possible in my last year in office if possible, but man will it ever be nice to go to a hunt and relax and enjoy it without all the hassles involved.

Got the contract tonight, and it looks like a go !!!

The clubs name is Yam Grady Creek CHA in Swainsboro, GA

The location will be the Swainsboro Jaycees Fairgrounds

The date will remain the same granted we have no conflicts and this will be known in the next week or so.

I'll be getting more info about hotels and so forth after Autumn Oaks and also be looking for the ad in Bloodlines in Jan issue.

If this turns out to be as nice a location as I'm told, what do you all think about it staying another year, or should we rotate it??

Just a thought........but by then it will be the next Presidents worry, so I think I'll take a break on this one !!!!!

OK, only had 1 conflict and this has been worked out, so WE ARE A GO FOR 2004.

But the club that gave us the Sat night date can only do so for 2004, so that being said we will be rotating for 2005, which should be ok as most folks will travel and support this hunt be it North, South, East or West.

Be looking for the ads in Bloodlines, and a special thanks to Andy Bedgood and the White Oak CHA for working with us and giving up their Sat night date so we can stay in GA one more year.

What happened with CLAXTON anyways????? When I was talking to those guys down there, back in February, they were excited about it coming back that way. So just what the heck happened?? Now that it is over with TELL ALL!!!!!!!
