Nice work!!!! Ill have to ask one question though whats the point in shooting 12 coons in one night? I can understand 2 but 12 seems a little pointless. I dont know where you hunt but around here its hard to tree 5 if you hunt all nite. The dogs are lucky to get one a nite. It really does them no good to have all them shot out to them if they will tree an have the meat why shoot all the coons you can tree em over and over during the off season or whenever when you shoot one youll never get to tree em again and have all that fun. Plus if you ever wana guide a cast they are plenty to tree. JMO

red power

you must have a nice red dog there. Its always awsome to watch a pup grow up and come on and do it right. Keep up the good work whats he out of. You guys must have a ton of coon. Can't wait for our season to come in the 10th. I got a couple young dogs I'm looking forward to hunting this season.

I have been pushing him hard,he has been to the vet, been completed checked out, special diet and on vitamins, and gun deer season is starting the the 15th when that roles in things with come to a screeching halt , In my opion, I'm doing whats right its the way I want to train ,I do worry about his health
For shooting 12 coon in one night , I'm in lower Michigan and I guarantee I can take right back in the same woods I hunted last night and we could tree coon all night long, Heck I bow hunted one of the woods tonight That I coon hunted last night and seen 6 coon before even got dark,

good job with that pup i hope he stays huntig that good you can over do it shooting too many coon ot to them you have to keep them wanting that coon personaly i shoot very few out to pups seems to make them stay interested my finished hound is lucky to get two or three in a whole season i would rather leave the coon to come out and play another night

Good job with that young dog. As far as I'm concerned you can't shoot to many. If you've got a good population keep right after it. Congratulations. Hope you have a lot more nights like that.

I hope you have trained him well cause you aint gonna have enough coons to train another one. Does he really need that many coon? I am not trying to cause trouble but I have been hunting a long long time and have never rolled that many in one night. Not even half. Not even when I was hunting where someone wanted them dead. And before you say it,yes I have had nights that good but never killed that many. Save some for your grandson. Nice looking red dog. You have enough carcass there to fatten him up over the next couple of months. You bragged,I looked!!!!!

hold on to that one, and as far as the amount of coons I live in northern wisconsin were lucky to tree 2 in a night but if we drive an hour or two south and get in to cornfields its all private lands and the deal is your hounds can't run there deer and you have to kill every coon destroying there crops or your not hunting there land.the wierd thing is will drive around and rig coons around home and like I said be lucky to get 2 and if we take the trip south we kill between 5 to 10 on average and end up ahead on money spent plus one night we killed 4 coons out of one corn field all seperate track and tree deals. went to another field treed 3 killed 2 and on the way back we past the first fields and shined over 20 sets of eyes not including the ones still in the trees from before. we hunted further south where there were some amish families, we were in one field and an amish gentleman came to us on his bike in tears, he begged us to hunt his fields and kill the coons. he explained that over 10 acres of corn was destroyed in his fields and that the corn was for his livestock and he sold corn to make a living for his family. feeling bad we agreed we would get what we could. An hour went by and a game warden came by, he didn't even check for licenses he only said that we were doing that area a big favor because there was such an overpopulation of coon that he was glad that we were getting good use as far as training hounds and keeping hides, and that there was actually some talk about ways to trap large amounts of coons because of crop damage and because of the amount of racoons. There was also a higher spread of diseases due to overpopulation. I asked what they would do with the trapped coons and the answer was "in the state of wisconsin racoons, skunks,possums,etc... are carriers of diseases and upon being trapped cannot be relocated and there for must be put down." he then was called over the radio and told us be safe thanks and good hunting. we rought home 23 coons that night between the 4 of us and four very tired hounds. now I know people might not agree with that but in my opinion we were helping in a problem and if theres a severe over population my opinion is goodluck and happy hunting.

if you got that many coons kill what you want . you wont ruin a dog if the dog is a coon dog he will still tree you coons no matter how many you knock out. good going . dont let the people discourge you about killing to many. i used to live in central illinois and i know about coon populations we would average six coons a night during hunting season. killing that many didnt slow our little red female down. how is your dog bred.

I think some need to realize that he just 1 ,and I dont shoot all heck theres nights i don't even have a gun with me, My dog has treed almost double the coon that i have shot and I have a freezer full I don't care if i get a buck a piece for them, this is his first coon season and I'm going to keep on keepin on because its working, maybe hes not the best , but hes good at what he does even if its just lying here next to me on the floor while i write this hes happy i looked down at him and he wags his tail if i say "want to go Hunting" he would get up and walk over by the door and wait there until I get ready, my wife has a daycare does bother anyone around here , he don't ask much a scratch or pat on the head,
There is one thing , I beleive he runs silent once in awhile, and its like he sneaks up on them or something, He puts is nose in the air and sneaks around like he's working out a plan on attack he does this mainly along the corn, and bam hes treed just that quick, I have even seen the coon pop out and cilimb the tree within feet of me, its only happened maybe 10 times but its different.
And for you guys or gals that don't agree with shooting out coon dont thats your choice more for me and razor

I think the ones who live in thin coon have a hard time even imagining what it`s like when you live in thick coon. We shot 7 out Saturday night and will get just as many out of the same spots tomorrow night, even got one that was 50" from nose to tail so there`s still some old ones around too.
