Hey all, it's cold time in TN. The four of us came down with colds a few weeks ago. They just seemed to move in and linger in all four of us. This weekend though, Macey's seemed to get much worse than the rest of us. She was making a horrible wheezing sound while breathing, and just hasn't felt very good at all.
We've got a big trip to the beach coming up this Thursday, the kids first real family vacation. So, not wanting to be sick during our trip, we all loaded up and went to see a doctor today.

Hubby's is still just a bad cold, mine turned into bronchitis, and our 20 mo. old William has a sinus infection with a little ear infection. Macey's breathing didn't sound to good, so we went in for tests and x-rays. She's got a chest cold with fluid built up in her right lung. Pneumonia they said.
Macey will be 3 yrs. old in 3 weeks, and she was so very excited about seeing big fish in the big ocean.

She is currently on antibiotics, steriods, an inhaler, and oxygen treatments. Her doctor is hoping for a speedy recovery since these meds are so strong, and will re-evaluate her on Wednesday.

Just asking for prayers from you all for Macey. She has had a long road to good health since being born... Macey was 3 weeks early after a very problematic pregnancy. She developed P.F.A.P.A at just a few months old, a rheumatic disorder so rare none of our home doctors even knew of it's existance.

Macey's a tough little girl, but everyone could use some extra help every now and then. She asked her Grandma today to "pray for her bel." Her chest hurts really bad from coughing and she thinks it's a belly ache! So please remember her in your prayers tonight.

For Macey! I've had pneumonia and it's a scary feeling even for an adult... We hope the meds work VERY quickly and that you are all well soon! We will keep her in our prayers and this evening as we lay down to sleep we will wish her a restful night full of faith and healing....
And a special prayer for Mom and Dad since having a sick child is a scary time.

Thanks all!

She's such a trooper, she did exactly what the doctors told her to do today, even down to the funny positions for the x-rays and all the icky things in her mouth. She even shook the x-ray techs hand and told him thank you!

Mona, this kid still calls you the "Blues Clues lady!" LOL. So cute, thank you! She loves the princesses, and anything Barbie! If they made a camo Barbie with a hound she would be in heaven! She thinks all the dogs are her dogs... it's cute, she can't remember everyone's names, just her two favorites, so ever so often she'll say "Momma, what's my puppy's name?" when she's telling someone about one of the others.

That certainly is a precious little girl, and seeing that picture and hearing that she is sick sure puts alot of other stuff into perspective.

I keyed in on what you said about colds going thru and seeming to linger a long time for your family, and obviously progressing into more serious matters. May I suggest that you have your home looked over for mold? When I was married, and right after my daughter was born, we experienced the same thing and it turned out to be a spot of mold in the ceiling causing it. It doesn't mean your house is in any type of disrepair, that stuff can blow in on a breeze. The guy that fixed ours said it was very prevalent in homes built in the winter months, since that's the only time it rains around here. An exterminator can either check it or point you in the right direction.

Anyway, tell that little angel she's got a lot of folks pulling for her.

This morning was her last steroid dose! Thank goodness... she was just not herself on those. She was even biting everybody!

Doctor should be checking back with us in a few hours, and we will get word on if we are beach bound or not... either way, we're just going to take it easy these next few days and enjoy being lazy!

Macey's doing pretty good taking her meds now. Still having some issues with the inhaler but not as bad as it was. Her wheezing is gone and she is breathing so much better.

coleman... we did have a spot of black mold in her brothers room but it's been gone for a while now. There was water damage from a storm and the roof and everything had to be replaced several months ago. Haven't seen any since. We're on a quarterly pest control program though, I HATE bugs, so I'll have them check everywhere when they come out next month. There have been moisture issues in the basement in the past so I guess it's possible. Thanks for the heads up!
