I need some advice?

I have got a one year old dog that is starting to tree with other dogs, the problem is that he is mean on tree. He keeps jumping on the other dogs. I was wondering how yall broke dogs from being mean on tree?

if you break him at the tree, youre only light breaking him or breaking while youre there as GA DAWG says... if hes ill on the tree hes gonna fight with other dogs on the tree, and a mean dog can ruin a good dog....

if you pet him up at the tree i think it makes them fight more i had one that done that so when he would start trying to fight i just whiped him with the leash one time and he has never done it anymore

I have successfully broke dogs from fighting at the tree. You have to catch them in the act and then very carefully place a bullet where it will do the most good. Problem solved, of coarse you could do what many others do and sell them to some one else or just keep them and tell everybody he isn't mean but he won't take anything on the tree. If you don't want to use my method you could find someone who just hunts one dog at a time and tell them how he is.

Get rid of him.

Hunt him alone,or sell him to someone who hunts alone. You won't break him from fighting.Take care.

what happens when he go's to some strangers tree that dont know about him,,

if he came into my dogs and jumped them on the tree ,he wouldnt do it again ,not never ever again..

one fella i knew had a dog like that ,he had the dog castrated and turned him into the best coondog he had..

cut him and if that dont cure him ,have him put down,

no wants to breed to a mean treedog

fix the problem !!!!!dont pass it to someone else...

I agree with you 100% on that, if I cant break him Im not going to give him to someone else unless they know that he`s mean. So far he's only got into with one dog, but on several hunts, and has not bothered the other ones.

Castration may or may not help, depends on the dog.If you don't break him from fighting, what's wrong with selling him to someone who hunts alone? I have know of people who hunt alone.I had a dog just like the one being discussed.I sold him to a man that hunted alone.A dog can't fight if there is no other dogs around.Just don't like seeing a dog go to waste or worse.Take care guys.

You run into a castrated dog in a hunt..You better beware!! 95% of the time it was cut because its mean AND 94.5% of the time it STILL IS!!!!!!

My reddog jumped a buddies dog one night and my buddy put the boots to him I mean worked him over real good, Hes been hunted with lots of other dogs and has not even puffed at another dog since ,I 'm a believer you can fix it if there young and you do not ever let them show aggression even at home but a stranger doing makes a difference, I think it worked because he doesn't have any Idea who may come out of the brush a put him in his place,
