Best cast

Whats the best cast you ever drew out with. The whole package sportsmanship, dog power and etc? You always here about bad casts and every thing lets here about the good ones.

You know what,I hunted the hunts for about 20 years and traveled all over Texas, and also in Okla.,Arkansas, some in Louisiana and of all the hunts I hunted I only drew out on about three or four BAD hunts. So it would be hard to name the absolute best hunt ever.

PKC hunt this spring in NY. The dogs took very few minus points.(any minus points were handler error) We treed four coons in six trees with all dogs getting in on two plus trees. The score was only 275+ because the dogs didn't just all pile on the same tree every time.

It was a nice cool night with great company and for once, all the dogs looked good in the cast. Everybody shined all the trees with handlers finding coon in trees their dogs weren't even on. High score was 275 and low score was 175. A very competitive cast that went right to the wire.

I've been in casts that scored much higher, but it is more enjoyable for me when all the dogs do it right and not just climb on another dog's tree.

judged a cast (not ukc)

that had the High Style dog and Boggy Bottom Bonnie, along with 2 other extremely good hounds from Indiana and Tennessee...................treed 6, all dogs AND handlers acted like gentleman.
