What Was Obama Saying? Poll

http://abcnews.go.com/Video/playerIndex?id=5745852

Did Barack Obama say "John McCain has not talked about my Muslim Faith"?

The answer is YES!

Let's do a poll.

Was it as he said when George S. corrected him?

Or did he slip up?

I have listened to it a number of times. I guess you could take either side.

You can vote for more then one thing.

what he meant was - john mccain has not been the person who tells the slanderous lies that obama is a muslim.
john mccain has had the respect to not lower himself to the despicable level of accusing someone of believing something that he doesnt.
it is the same wingnuts who think mccain is the antichrist that think obama is a muslim!

I think Obama is religously broad...

....which means he really thinks all religions are great and no one of them is more right than another. You know, like Oprah teaches or states. This is what that bumper sticker with the cross, star of David, moon and crescent and yin/yang symbol is about. Maybe some on here think that way. To me anyone who lives that way might be any religion depending on their mood for the day or what side of the bed they get up on. Sounds real nice to most people but it really is the religion of tolerance. He will tolerate all sorts of ideas and behavior just so you don't act like anyone else is wrong or needs to change their behavior.

My question is this. Is abusing Children wrong?

There has to be black and white, right and wrong in this world.

Everything is NOT okay and there are somethings that ARE WRONG.

If anyone disagrees with this statement: "The Abuse Of Children is WRONG" SPEAK UP! If that act is wrong, there could very well be other things that are wrong.

Of course abusing children is wrong but if someone defines that to include spanking or raising your voice then lots of folks would be child abusers. I agree that there are moral absolutes and right and wrong but I know that there will be disagreement on what those are. The most tolerant of folks will have the widest range of acceptance for some sensitive moral issues and lock down like a treed hound on the issues that they feel are most black and white. That's what worries me about the Democratic Party. They stand for everything and everyone and in doing so real don't stand very tall. You can't make promises to provide all the needs for everyone and accomplish that without it costing everyone else with higher taxes. The Dems. draw needy folks like a warm soda can draws hornets on a cool fall day. Then they exploit those same people in a quid pro quo relationship and few seem to break out of the cycle of give and take and vote for a democrat. Abortion is just one of many issues that are indicative of a moral collapse in our country that leaves people with greater needs and less internal resources. Flat out it breaks people down in their souls and leaves them cold.

Maybe thats why I chose to be a Democrat. I believe in alot of things. Every issue has 2 sides, I'm a fence sitter, I try to see both sides. Abortion is one I sit on. To me, it is very, very wrong to abort a healthy child, just because you didn't want it, the time wasn't right or you just plain didn't care & failed to use protection! Heck, even if you were raped & yes, much to my shame, I was. Thank the Gods above, I didn't become pregnant. But if I had, I could have never aborted that child, it was innocent of the crime. Adoption is a very real & big option, people. But if they make abortion illegal, women will still find a way to terminate an unwanted child. You would then have to deal with backyard, rusty clothes hanger type deals. Women would die or lose ability to conceive & carry a child she may want down the road. So see what I mean, I'm a fence sitter. I see both sides. Does that make me wrong? Being able to see both sides of something, to me, means I'm a caring, open minded person that can listen & discuss things, without pushing my ideals on everyone else.

Come on let's use a little bit of common sense here. We aren't talking about spanking your kid or raising your voice to make them behave. We are talking about Child Abuse that happens everyday. Kid's that are sexually abused. Kid's that have to cover up their black and blue spots. Kid's that are chained up because they acted out. Kid's that go to bed hungry because their parent has spent the food money on drugs.

WHoa there

You are preaching to the choir. Was there one thing in particular that wrankled you? Sure, I know that kids get abused and that its wrong. Did you have a point on that related to your original post? Not sure what you are trying to say. Obama seems to be to be someone who slips by moral choices easily by saying they are very personal and each person has to decide what is right for them and their situation. I don't agree with that but I think that is how he and lots of others believe. Moral relativism. Are you quoting my posts because you disagree or I don't state it clearly? I don't think we are so far off in our perspective but maybe I am missing something.

Englishbabe, I agree with you on abortion. I don't like it but what are you going to do with all of those unwanted babies? Are you going to force these women to keep babies that they don't want. Like I said, I don't like abortion but I don't like it going back to the the coat hangers either. Abortions have been going on for centuries. And what I hate even more is abortion after the fact!

I also do not agree with late term abortions!

High rates of abortion are sign of a nation that is falling apart morally as is folks having children that they don't want. You don't solve this problem by killing those children either before they should be born or after. To many people live for the moment and have no plan to live a life where they take care of themselves and those they bring into this world. Having kids was meant for a husband and wife who are in it for the long haul. Lots of people will dismiss that as pie in the sky old school but it worked better than what many are choosing to do. We aren't so different than the Romans and Greeks in that regard. They used abortion also and had somewhat effective means to do so. Our society somewhat copies their ideals of freedom and individual choice without long term responsiblity.

Obama doesn't. In fact, He voted to allow BORN children to die without medical care.

BTW Trackdriver, What makes a late term unborn child any different than a 9 week old unborn child?

At what point does it miraculously become bad to murder an unborn child?

So lets make murdering children legal and hold our heads high pretending to be such a great, compassionate country, knowing that we support the murder of 5,000+ children a day.

I find it frighteing that people can actually say it is better for a child to be murdered than live a life that we may feel isnt a "good" life.

From what I have learned over the years, many good, great people come from less than stellar childhoods.

Let the Democrats keep it up and there will be a day when a child's life will be allowed to be ended just because the parents arent rich enough,pretty enough, smart enough, etc, etc.

Ever read "Brave New World"?? You guys are scary.

Are you crazy? I didn't say I agree with abortion, I said that if they make it illegal, it will become third world, back alley clothes hanger deals, again. Just because something is illegal, doesn't mean it doesn't exist. Hellloooo...DRUGS are illegal, but I bet you know someone who does them or deals them!

The Bible says "the wages of Sin is Death". If someone wants to murder their child and risk their own life doing it in a backl alley then they will get what they deserve. Then main thing is we dont live in a country that allows people to legally murder and profit from the murder of children

If you will remember, it was Bill Clinton that was sending taxpayer dollars overseas to fund abortions. GW vetoed the bill his first day in office.

It was also Clinton that wanted to make it legal for abortion clinics to sell the parts of aborted children, but barely failed thanks to a narrow REP majority on Washington.

The Democrats have a long history of championing and profiting from the murder of children. And yet people who call themselves, normal, compassionate people still support them.

That is exactly what is wrong with this country right now is too many "fence riders". People need to get a back bone and stand up for what they feel is right. Stop riding the fence and just simply make a decision. People know right from wrong and everyday all you hear is someone attempting to justify something that is dead wrong. That is why I can't vote Democratic is they want to act like gay rights, killing babies, and all this welfare families are all right. All the free rides in this country needs to stop and we need to get back to what this country was founded on and that is God (NOTICE NOT GODS) and hardwork.

Change?

George Bush has been in office for 7 1/2 years. The first six the economy was fine.

A little over one year ago:

1) Consumer confidence stood at a 2 1/2 year high;

2) Regular gasoline sold for $2.19 a gallon;

3) The unemployment rate was 4.5%;

4) The DOW JONES hit a record high--14,000;

5) American's were buying new cars, taking cruises, vacations overseas, living large!

But American's wanted 'CHANGE'!

So, in 2006 they voted in a Democratic Congress & yep--we got 'CHANGE' all right.

In the PAST YEAR:

1) Consumer confidence has plummeted;

2) Gasoline is now over $4 a gallon & climbing!

3) Unemployment is up to 5% (a 10% increase);

4) Americans have seen their home equity drop by 12 TRILLION DOLLARS & prices still dropping;

5) 1% of American homes are in foreclosure.

6) As I write, THE DOW is probing another low~~11,100--

$2.5 TRILLION DOLLARS HAS EVAPORATED FROM THEIR STOCKS, BONDS & MUTUAL FUNDS INVESTMENT PORTFOLIOS!YEP, IN 2006 AMERICA VOTED FOR CHANGE! AND WE SURE AS HECK GOT IT!NOW OBAMA, the DEM'S CANDIDATE FOR PRESIDENT--AND THE POLLS SAY:
HE'S GONNA BE 'THE MAN' CLAIMS HE'S GONNA REALLY GIVE US 'CHANGE'!JUST HOW MUCH MORE 'CHANGE' DO YOU THINK YOU CAN STAND?

Wake up!The only change we need is to get the Democrat power out of the Congress and John McCain in the White house!
