Got treed last night
Nope, not saying that it is unusual to make a few trees while hunting, but I actually took refuge in a tree myself.
Young dog was runnning something in a cornfield. I thought it was a coon. He kept sounding like he was treed, but not quite either. So I went out to see what was going on. Well, he was near the back of the corn field by a wooded fence row. He was only about 12-15 rows in the cornfield. Thinking it was just another normal coon hunt I got about 3 rows on my way to see what was going on.
My presence must have give the young dog courage because what ever he had he decided to catch it. It was a dang feral hog! World war 3 broke out and it took me only about 5 jumps to be 10 feet high in an old apple tree. There sure was a bunch of movement going on in that corn field! The dog completely shut up. I didn't hear him again for at least the 30 minutes I waited until I climbed down. He actually was still running catching and letting it go over and over until he had enough 2 hours later.
Me, I picked up a big stick and quickly made my way back to the road where I safely listened to the very odd race.
