Doc's Honest Abe Questions

How old is his oldest litter ? I don't know a whole bunch about him. Anyone have his full 3 gen ped or any pictures of him? If the pups are old enough has anyone hunted with one? What is he throwing? What are some of his traits, good bad and ugly

Any info would be great. I know he was the 2007 Purina Winner.

Thanks

Ive hunted with him twice and from what ive seen he is a get through the country FAST get treed all alone at all cost kinda dog. you can tree coons behind him but they better make it snappy cause he does...open bawl on the ground gets struck quick but then dont say much after that and is a one bark tree dog..... he won the cast both nights i hunted with him and with out any help from his handler(Kevin). Cant say much about his pups i havent ever hunted with any of them. But he him self is a coon dog in every since of the word and Kevin Phillips and B.T Love his owners seem like good people to deal with and strait shooters........ And all this comeing from a redbone man.......LOL

Can't say much about Abe other than just a plain, get in the dark, COONDOG!!!

As far as his owner/handler, you WILL NOT meet or deal with anyone more honest or selfless than Kevin!!

He lets his hounds do their talking..

I have talked to some of the fictims of Abe and most everyone says he is first class coonhound with a first class handle. That means alot to me. A good dog doesn't need to bring back ??? every cast!

Abe & Kevin Phillips

ladycathunter if you take the C H Bloodlines his ped in on page 43. As far as Kevin goes drop him a "E" he will tell you what ever you ask and it will be straight. would bet he will show him to you in the woods in a heart beat but let me tell you one thing if you go with him you better be ready to go I mean go Kevin and Abe goes where the coons are. He is a coon dog period.

Awesome.. Thanks for all the info..

H.L. Thanks for that info about the C H Bloodlines.. I was getting ready to start thumbing through issues...

I would love to go for a hunt with him Oregon is a bit far away from where he is at though, I am guessing..

I will email Kevin if it looks like one of Doc's pups will head this way... and he does sound like a dog I wouldn't mind owning a pup off of.

Thanks for all the info guys...

ABE

Ive hunted w/ abe as a young pup and he was a fast learning pup, very quick to get struck and pretty quick to get treed, about 80-90 barks per minute. I also hunted the tina dog ALOT, she is a second or third srike dog but a first tree dog that can tree harder than any female Ive ever seen, about 100-120 bpm. As far as kevin, be prepared for the truth even if its not what you want to hear, because its coming! The last I heard about any of the pups one was treeing a coon in the rolling cage very well and starting to go w/ the older dogs, but thats about it.Ive hunted w/ alot of pups out of ole doc and abe was pretty close to the best! Hope this helps anyone!!

i've never hunted with abe but i was told he hunts harder than his daddy and his daddy was one h@ll of a coondog that is why i got a brother to abe here at the house. i hunted with doc on two different occasions and both nights were iced up and that is kinda rare around here but he showed me coons both nights. kevin is a hard hunter and it takes a tough dog to stand up under him!

I have drawn Abe twice and he will get deep fast and get treed with a coon. He is very independant.

Abe

We drew him at Bluetick Days 2007, Friday and Saturday night. He looked as good as a dog can look. Dominant. A spectator on the cast refered to him as " The Machine". Any time you can tree two or three coons by yourself on a cast, and still get beat bad, you have seen quite a show. Mike.

Abe

Mike said it like it was. I drew Abe both nights at Bluetick days in 2007. He by far based on these two nights is the most impressive dog I have hunted against. He made no mistakes, got struck quick, treed with or without the other dogs and we seen coon in ALL the trees he was on! Nice hound and nice people hunting him. I hunt blueticks, but after them two nights I would not mind having a pup out of Abe. Who knows maybe the pup you get out of him may be the next in line for the purina race winner. 1. Doc 2. Abe 3. Your Pup!

Jon,
Just wanted to say thanks for the good things you have said about Mose. I have read some on here and have got calls from folks that have talked to you. Once again thank you.
