Curious about a camp ground near AO that someone could recommend. Hoping and praying we get to go this year, so I am trying to get it in order before hand.

I camped on grounds last year worked out great . They have a shower house ,food and lots & lots of people lol

Gunna have to bunk with the dogs! I have tried calling the Fair Grounds but haven't had much luck. I don't know if it's a first come, first serve thing or not. Sounds like fun, tho!

Camper again! We loved it. We could care less where we park it as long as we are THERE! Not that I'm excited...it is our ONLY big thing all year...and this may be the last for a while if we don't strike OIL...

Cleo... LOL... Last year space was easy to come by... since the grounds opened later for camping. We'll probably end up on the outskirts but we don't care... I can't wait to meet you guys and others we have yet to meet. I missed a TON of people AGAIN last yr!I sat down in a chair at ring side... and never moved...had a bluetick in my lap most of the time

We stayed at the Richmond KOA last year...It was very nice. If we get to go this year we are probably gonna camp on grounds at AO....Try to not move that dang tank of a truck I have...Just realized this past weekend while traveling to and from Holmesville that my truck only gets 15 miles a gal. And that's not even pulling anything...We had been using the horse trailer to haul and house the dogs in while attending events last year. It has a small sleeping quarters in the front. That worked out great, but we will be sleeping on the ground with the dogs this year. Can't afford to haul that thing around all over the country.

I was one of those folks that did not find you last year...I never saw your camper with the signs all over it...Maybe we can try to hunt ya down again this year if we go...We have some other issues along with expenses that are making us plan literally day by day...

we don't even want to figure the gas mileage on the Suburban with the camper.... not good... We spent a ton last yr but this yr...maybe at least we'll remember to cook our own food..DUH! We brought food with us...brought it all home too! DId i say DUH? LOL...
I do hope you are able to go. We weren't sure we would. Money..etc. But my health is decent this yr so we have to try while we can! Hope your issues work out in your favor and you can make it!
I told Bob we should wear BIGCASTLEDAWGS shirts... LOL... he looked pretty horrified Bad enough the poor guy is Mr BIGCASTLEDAWGS... LOL...
Our camper was in one of the first rows closest to all the buildings in the field... it was just TOO obvious. My favorite was FINALLY seeing Rita (wentblue)... in the show ring at the LAST minute... and meeting her. She had described that her truck was RIGHT outside the show building door..and it literally WAS... I had been standing at it, leaning on it etc... all weekend. I felt a BIT better when she said she had not been able to find our camper either!
It is a BIT overwhelming being there...and we were going to be meeting my half a hound and Russ last yr and were SOOOO excited about that! This year I'll be real calm LOL...

Camping on the grounds is free, but it's first come first serve. The hotels are gonna be a real high price. It's hard to get a hold of anyone at the fairgrounds.

We will not be able to get there until Friday morning-early. Leaving SC on Thurs night and drive thru. Our "camper" is Mike's dog hauling trailer. We have sleeping area in it as well. I guess I will see what happens a little closer.
Maybe someone can just save us a spot right next to the bathroom!

Still, I can't wait!

If you plan to get there early in the morning you should be able to get a nicer spot. Last year we got there early Saturday morning and got a spot along the fence. That helped to tie the dogs out.

It looks like we will be able to leave SC on Thursday AM, Good Lord willing......
We should be in there by Thursday afternoon. I guess we're gonna chance it and hope for the best!
Can't wait to meet lots of great people and see some wonderful dogs!
(With my luck, mine will be in heat, and I won't be able to bring her anyway!)

Take care and be safe! Please say a prayer for my husband-he left out this morning on a very long dog run.

SO... if you get there before us you need to save US a space! LOL..... OF course yours will end up in heat... that IS the way to GET them into heat isn't it????LOL....
I have NO idea when we'll arrive. Plan to leave MA after feeding the animals Wed PM... and driving either straight thru if we have friends along to help drive... or stopping to sleep if Just Bob drives.... Arrive sometime Thursday... I think...LOL... Have I said WOOoooHOoooo?!!!
