If I had to guess I would say it was just an under ground power line running real close to that spot. Kind of the same reason why your tracking system will not work under power lines. Either that or the All Mighty was trying to tell you something, and you are still alive so it must have worked!

The fat guy deal is why I have a stay put tree dog. I don't have to run to the tree before they leave.

tunnels?

We here in WV are mostly coalminers. Sometimes you will experience electromagnetic waves that are underground. They will make your lights and even electrical Equipment do crazy things. I guess this could be what happened. The noise that you heard was pobably like a bee buzz. That is what it sounds like. Or it could have truely been an ACT OF GOD.

GOD BLESS!!

rofl.rofl.rofl. I dont know me and my hunting buddies are a lil jumpy sometimes...I'm the only one allowed to carry the gun. I think I would have been alot nicer to the fat guy, left the tunnel and went around....yea there is no way i would have walked into a low crazy sounding humming sound after that......you brave.

One time I was guiding a cast and I was the "fat man" in the group. But I knew we were on a time schedule, so I kept up a good pace. After a while I heard someone in the group behind me say, "for a big man, he sure moves fast!" It put a grin on my face that I couldn't take off for the rest of the nite!

BTW, we got back to the clubhouse in time!

In all seriosuness...I would say there's a magnetic force in the rock, or hill there. I knew of a place, far from roads or houses, where the safety on my gun would vibrate..kinda buzz. I also know of 2 different spots where my tracking system doesn't work well at all, and makes a weird noise while the needle bumps strangely. I'm convinced that there's a magnetic force of some kind that can exist on a piece of ground or the side of a mountain or hill that interferes with electronics. Just what I've found anyway.
