What's Stingers?

Has anyone heard of a "Stinger" in regards to ammunition. Someone told me that they use this because it's non-leathal and stings under the skin causing the coon to leave the tree?

OK I'll be the bad guy on this one. Why do you want to sting a coon to make it come out of the tree? Does a pointer have to fight a quail? Does a lab have to fight a duck? No!!! So why the hell do people think a hound has to fight a coon? If you have to shoot one out then be respectful and try for a clean kill. Give your dog plenty of praise and they will be just fine.

I

HAVE NEVER HEARD OF THE SHELLS YOU DESCRIBED,,,BUT IF THEY ARE MADE FROM RUBBER IT WOULD NOT PUT A COON OUT ANEY WAY...I WOULD SHACK OUT EVERY COON TO A YOUNG DOG IF I COULD,,THEY RUN THEM BECALS THEY HATE THEM. LIVE COON PUT THE HATE IN THE PUPS FOR COON..LONG RIFFEL WILL GET THEM OUT WITH MOORE FITE THAN CB THEY STAY UP THERE TILL THEY BLEED OUT SO USE LONG RIFFEL..

Stinger is a bad term to use cause people will get them confused with CCI's Stinger bullet. You should have said stunner or less lethal bullets. Yes I have used them and reloaded them. The ony draw back is I am not aware of any .22 rimfire rubber bullets available. I do not think even if they were available that they would phase a coon. But I will tell you this if you use them in .38 special or a .357 magnum casing they will knock about anything silly other than maybe a grizzly bear. I have loaded them in my .44 magnum but never really shot any animals with them. But I honestly believe this would work great to get a good coon fight for youngs dogs. Call me a fool but I always like to give younger dogs in training a good coon fight once in a while to light the fire.
